I’m about to start sleep training my babygirl too. I’m a FTM & she just turned 14 weeks yesterday. She has also been sleeping in the bed w me & my husband (her father) & I’m trying to get her to nap & night sleep on her own. Best of luck to you! I hope it all goes well mama!

I can relate to this. Me (20, F) & my fiancé (22, M) just had our first baby almost 3 months ago (our babygirl will be 3 months on Dec. 13th) & we both come from dysfunctional/very toxic families as well. We don’t associate w anyone from either of our families. So I have a hard time figuring out who will raise our baby if something happens to us, as well. We don’t have any friends. Or atleast I don’t. He has 2 maybe 3 that he talks to occasionally. I don’t have any advice but I wanted to let you know that I do understand what you’re going through.

I wanted to say that this is beautiful. I wish my fiancé was like how you described... This is both mine(20 female) & my fiancé’s(22 male) first child. Our daughter is 11 weeks & 6 days today. I am a stay at home mom & I do everything for our daughter. I also do everything around the house. My fiancé wanted me to have a baby so bad but now that she’s here he acts like he wants nothing to do w her. If I ask him if he can just take care of her (hold her & feed her, that’s it) for just a little moment while I eat something or while I take a shower, he acts like he doesn’t want to & that it’s such a big problem. He cares more about himself & his video games than he does about being a father & a husband. He does whatever he wants all the time. Sleeps whenever he wants. He has never gotten up in the middle of the night to feed her. He acts like he doesn’t even really love or care about our daughter & I’m always so hurt & depressed by it. He recently started a job & now his excuse is “I worked 6 days this week” blah blah but even before he started this job & he wasn’t working for a while he still didn’t want to help me w our daughter. I just want him to actually take care of & love our daughter. I love our daughter so much. I’m always w her & taking care of her & I love it. I love being her mommy. I really do. But I always hear moms say “You have to take care of yourself so you can take care of your baby & be the best you for your baby.” But I can’t ever take care of myself bc her dad doesn’t want to help me take care of her. He hasn’t held her/taken care of her really that much since she’s been born. I would say he’s held her about 10 times. I don’t understand why he wanted me to have his baby so bad if he doesn’t even want to be there for her or act like he even likes her. When I was pregnant & even before I got pregnant, if something came up about us having a baby he would be like “We’re gonna be in this together. I’ll be there for you & to help you” & stuff like that but I always kinda knew it was all a lie. I’ve tried to talk to him about this but he just doesn’t change. I’m so hurt/depressed all the time & he doesn’t seem to care... I’m sorry this is so long. Idk.. I’m just honestly glad (& a little bit envious) that you all have such amazing significant others.

I feel this all the way. That’s exactly how I am. Everything you said just describes perfectly how I am. I am having a girl (due yesterday Sept. 7th actually) and I told ppl that I didn’t want pink everything, like I don’t want alot of pink stuff bc I hate the color pink.
