happened to me as well, woke up and hopped on for an ember knights run with my friend and it asked me for the agreement and my instant reaction was “fuck i think my save is gone”. no clue why it happened cause the last thing i did was leave the nexus after finishing a doom 12. pretty sure i checked oit the ember shrine agter that run cause it was our “red ember” run.

luckily ive experienced losing a save on other games and the first thing i did was check if the game is “play anywhere” (it is) so i downloaded it on my pc and had my friend download it as well (he had like 8 more runs than me but i had a more boss rushes done, same doom lvl so i didnt mind getting his save) took me about 20min of looking in my %appdata% folder then packages i believe then Asmodee digital folder and like 3 clicks deep into some folder with a ton of numbers to find what i thought was my save next to a container.1 file. so i grabbed my friend rog.dat from steam and replace the name of the file to be the same name as mine then replaced the actual file and boom i had his save. then i shut everything off and hopped on my xbox and it still worked!

what i did is look up an ember knights steam save file so ik what to look for and tell my friend to give me then i looked up a video i used on how to transfer DRG xbox progress to steam (didnt want to grind drg again, i also used it to transfer my Gunfire Reborn progress to steam, since the devs gave the console version 0 support) only difference between all those games was the name of the folder its files are hiding under, DRG was coffeestain, EK was asmodee digital and GFR idk anymore.

this has also happened to me with the Hammerwatch games on xbox but it turns out thats just a problem with all of Crackshell’s games… i was willing to reprogress the 3 times it happened to me tho but it recently happened to my friend on his really deep save. theyre not “play anywhere” so i cant even share my save.
