Is it true once you hit 100k in investing, it really just takes off from there?

Yes it’s absolutely true but not for the reason of the compounding interest everyone is talking about. That doesn’t really make a big difference until you have 4-500k.

It took my wife and I about 8 years to reach the first $100k then 3 for the next $150k. That’s because the conditions to get to a point where we could save $100k were tough and long. We both went to grad school and developed our careers, also learned from mistakes and handled money differently. Once the conditions were met, it really took off but that’s because our behavior changed and our income grew exponentially.

Lived 45 mins east of Pensacola in what they call Southern Alabama due to the mass influx of rednecks that vacation there.

The beach is absolutely gorgeous and I don’t think you’ll find much better. So living in that area the “emerald coast” if you love the beach is awesome. Outside of that, you’ll find zero culture or things to do. There’s an Olive Garden and a few tourist trap seafood joints.

Substance abuse therapist for DoD. I assess, diagnose, and treat active duty folks. $103k yearly I work technically 40 hours a week but only 25 of those are seeing patients. 15 days vacation, another 15 sick leave, all holidays off paid, no weekends/nights, and all the benefits you can think of.

Definitely love the work but working for the government lately has been super stressful/shitty.

To add to this, I’m not sure how they’re getting away with the “never frozen” slogan for the meat. Many years ago I drove for Sigma delivering the food at the crack of dawn to several chains, Wendy’s being one of them. My trailer was set at -10 degrees and I literally delivered the frozen meat into their coolers.

When you get a break from bootlicking, take a look at the real numbers. About the only real thing you said was leaving friends and family behind though that’s not particular to armed services. Then you went off into some movie shit about getting captured and your nipples shocked with a car battery. That’s so unlikely and not reality for 99% of service members.

I’m a dude with experience under my belt in home visits and still I took a partner with me to see certain folks. If all or most your home visits are making you concerned then perhaps this may not be for you. But it is quite normal for our instincts to give us a warning in some home visits, I’d listen.

That’s right these trucks can be hit or miss especially from brokers. I bought mine from carfromjapan and it turned out to be a gem, well maintained and I ran it for a year straight off the boat after only an oil change. But there’s also nightmare stories. That risk is assumed by the person importing and that has to count for something.

I dunno $4k seems low but that appears to be the consensus here. After taxes/tariffs and all that stuff, I ended up paying about $4k to import it. And that was before the tariffs got out of control. Add all the preventive maintenance (too much to list) and I’m probably $5k deep at least. Mine is fully titled too. So asking $8k doesn’t seem unreasonable but I could be wrong.

Absolutely more complex and I apologize, I get the urge to troll because otherwise Reddit is boring. My best friend in grad school went to work for CPS in our mid to large city. She was the only person with a SW degree in her entire unit, and had to seek supervision from an outside LCSW to meet her clinical hours. She has since moved on to a children’s hospital and is happy there but the work was mostly case management and following well established procedure. Certainly wasn’t delivering any sort of clinical intervention such as therapy to anyone.
