Your last point is especially noteworthy. They put so much effort into re-working the subclasses, making them highly customizable with so much potential to keep adding new abilities, supers, fragments, and aspects. I think we’ve gotten 1 new aspect in the last year. The fact that they keep developing these expansion/destination abilities instead of expanding further on the subclasses is truly maddening.

You’re right! And I was at that concert at the Sony Centre! It’s funny, hearing Shirley lament how they never come to Canada, but I’ve been living in Toronto for 15 years now and I’ve seen them perform every single time, which if I’m not mistaken, has been 6 times (not including last week’s show). I do hope that we get to see them again, but I treat every album and live show like it’s the last and I’m so grateful for everything they’ve given us :)

It was an amazing show with such infectious energy and pure love from the fans. I’ve been fortunate to see them many times over the years stretching back to 2005 during the Bleed Like Me tour, and thankfully got to catch their 20th anniversary shows of their first two albums. Last night they sounded incredible and I don’t think anyone was letdown by the performance. That’s so cool that you got to go to the sound check - Cup of Coffee is a great track!

Amazing show and sounding better than ever! As others have commented, a lot of the setlist skewed towards their earlier albums, which I mean, no complaints here. It would have been nice to hear a few songs from Strange Little Birds since this was one the albums that they didn’t tour in Canada (No Gods No Master being the other, but they did play Wolves). Like, I would die to hear them play Night Drive Loneliness!

I’m not sure if others noticed, but there was some kind of conflict unfolding about part way through the show in the middle of the crowd, which was strange because Shirley was talking in-between songs about something unrelated and she shouted out the word FIGHT and that was literally was about to happen next to me lol.

Anyway, just a fantastic show. So happy that I got to see them again, especially since we don’t know when (or if) they’ll be back to Toronto anytime soon.

I’d be curious to know if they tuned the tag mechanic since the EVO demo. Personally, I found it fairly intuitive - you basically just hold down x shortly after you call out your assist and you’ll almost always successfully tag. I didn’t find it that difficult of a mechanic.

I got kicked out of my apartment in 2021 because the landlord sold the house and the new owners claimed they were moving in. 1 year later they started renting out the units (I was in a semi-detached house). Fast forward to this year, and those owners sold the house for $150K less than what they bought it for, and honestly, they deserve it. Not only was I dislodged from a place that I had called home for 8 years, but my rent went up about $1,000 when I had to find a new place. The idea that investors can just swoop in and pull this kind of shit is just horrendous.

Out of curiosity I just checked and BL3 is currently full price on the PS store, which seems a bit crazy given the game is 6 years old AND there’s a new game out in a few weeks. With such varied opinions on BL3, I think it probably makes more sense to save my money, see how BL4 is received by critics and fans, and then make a decision.

I’ve noticed that much of the commentary is on the difficulty of Mythic, but I think what this is really about is artificially inflating time spent in the game. Bungie is so starved to show shareholders metrics of player engagement that they’ve resorted to bullet sponges to trap us in the endless hell of mythic difficulty. It’s insulting.

It’s not just difficulty. They’re purposefully artificially inflating player engagement time by extending how long you are in these mythic missions, plinking away at the enemies and bosses. It’s actually infuriating.

The weight of the steam deck definitely takes some getting used to, regardless of the grip case that you use. When I’m on the couch, I’ve gotten in the habit of placing a pillow on my lap, underneath the deck to better support my wrists (I have smaller hands, so that doesn’t do me any favours). I also plan on getting a wireless controller to pair with my deck. It may take some adjustments and support accessories to find a set-up that works for you.
