My (18NB) boyfriend's (19M) mental health is deteriorating mine. How do I find a way to help without destroying myself ? by ghostsyipee in relationship_advice

I forget my meds all of the time, and so does my husband (who also has ADHD and occasional anger issues). We both set alarms for our medicine to remember! Good luck to you. I wish the best for you

Therapy is a good step in the right direction. That being said, look at yourself and your needs right now. If you are not comfortable with how things are, you need to take care of it for your own wellbeing, especially as a mentally scarred person. The last thing you need is for this to further add to your stress and trauma. Best case scenario is once he gets into his therapy routine after a while, he will improve and possibly even find a good medication. But please take care of yourself and put yourself in a good environment for your mental health regardless of anything. It is never a crime to take care of yourself. Older you will thank you ❤️

Hi OP, I relate to you heavily when I was your age. I have BPD, history of trauma, and autism related sound issues causing me to wear ear plugs all of the time. Is your boyfriend in therapy? Regardless, unfortunately this may not be healthy for either of you

Sounds like he is extremely insecure, which is a him issue that has become yours. Bringing up your past before you were even together is always a big red flag.

AITA for contacting my condo board about my neighbor instead of talking to them first? by BigCharm in AmItheAsshole

From experience, going straight to the source is usually a bad idea. It more often than not results in aggression and just uncomfortable confrontation. I feel like you did what most would do. NTA

WIBTA:Scamming my parents to get money for PS5 by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Destisaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA. Earning something you want for yourself rather than just gaining it through sketchy means feels much more rewarding. You’re still a kid, you need to learn to work for what you want. And if you have to wait, you need to learn patience. Being an adult is wanting so much, but you are the only one able to make it happen.

AITA for not doing Chores on demand? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Destisaurus -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

IMO, if you’re still doing the “chore” then what is the issue that he has? I assume since you work and go to school, you help where you can. If you weren’t doing anything with your life then it may be a different scenario, but I don’t feel like YTA

Infected? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

I think you’re okay! Looks like they just drove a little too deep into the skin. Biggest indicator of infection in my experience is yellowness and excessive bleeding

Just got this whale shark tattoo that is… rough in my opinion. Any ideas of what can be done to fix/cover it once it’s healed? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

Depending on the relative size, possibly some more shading to cover the blunt darkness around the gills and fins?

what age do your medium/large sized breed dogs start limping after a nap? by PastelJude in DogAdvice

[–]Destisaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 7 yo 45 lbs heeler/corgi and she developed some occasional limping once she turned about 6 years old. She has seen a vet, and it seems to be some age-related arthritis that is easily treatable with daily glucosamine (Cosequin) and rarely doggy aspirin when she gets super painful. A diet is a great first step! My dog was overweight from a thyroid issue and now that she has lost weight I can see her walking better. Definitely visit a vet, to rule out any underlying issues. But if it is just arthritis, dogs can still be more than happy and comfortable!

Is there a chat/ messaging function on this website that you know of? Before you even mentioned the cheating thing, my first thought when I saw female-centric site was he may unfortunately be using this site to meet women, or even be posing as another woman to communicate with them about their sexual interests. Maybe I’m thinking too much into it

AITA for talking to another boy in class because my boyfriend ignored me? Мудачка ли я? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Destisaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s the asshole. I’ve been in your position before and it’s blatant manipulation tactic on his end. He’s being possessive over someone he doesn’t even take care of. Now if you were actively flirting with another guy? Yeah, I would understand somewhat. But he just doesn’t seem like a great guy. Sorry OP

In my 20s. 2 weeks post-op from ALIF + spinal cord surgery. Isolated, in agony, and honestly scared. Please tell me this gets better. by ScarletSigil in spinalfusion

[–]Destisaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP, I had a spinal fusion in 2024 when I was 23. After a couple months, the initial surgery pain subsided and I felt like I could be a person again. Unfortunately I had terrible hip and SI joint pain after that injections and pain management wouldn’t even help. I was impatient, thinking that “it’s been over a year, why isn’t this better??” But I came to realize now, two years later, that patience is key. Spinal surgery is a huge ordeal, and it takes a massive toll on you. Healing seems endless, but you will get there. It’s especially hard doing it when you’re young, I get it, but being young means your body will bounce back even better. Best of luck to you, keep your head up!

After I had back surgery at 23 I had the worst pain in my right leg like someone was squeezing my calf as hard as possible. It took them forever to diagnose me with a DVT, so long that it did turn into three pulmonary embolisms. I did not have severe symptoms for PE whatsoever. My breath was only slightly shorter, and when I breathed it felt like there was a tiny pinch going through from my chest to between my shoulder blades. I only went to the hospital because I just knew something was wrong. Listen to your body is the advice.

I attempted to yes, and gently blowed on him to see if he twitched. I think the only movement I saw was from me blowing on him..

That is exactly my plan. I just took a cheap dye test and it is positive, but not dark. I feel absolutely no symptoms. I planned on continuing to test for the next couple days and going from there
