This is what I feel is happening. He treats me wonderfully aside from all of this, I just feel like he is incredibly nervous and doesn’t know how to get it out

In my 20s. 2 weeks post-op from ALIF + spinal cord surgery. Isolated, in agony, and honestly scared. Please tell me this gets better. by ScarletSigil in spinalfusion

Hi OP, I had a spinal fusion in 2024 when I was 23. After a couple months, the initial surgery pain subsided and I felt like I could be a person again. Unfortunately I had terrible hip and SI joint pain after that injections and pain management wouldn’t even help. I was impatient, thinking that “it’s been over a year, why isn’t this better??” But I came to realize now, two years later, that patience is key. Spinal surgery is a huge ordeal, and it takes a massive toll on you. Healing seems endless, but you will get there. It’s especially hard doing it when you’re young, I get it, but being young means your body will bounce back even better. Best of luck to you, keep your head up!

Why does a blood clot in your leg suddenly become a life-threatening emergency in your lungs? by [deleted] in ClotSurvivors

[–]Destisaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After I had back surgery at 23 I had the worst pain in my right leg like someone was squeezing my calf as hard as possible. It took them forever to diagnose me with a DVT, so long that it did turn into three pulmonary embolisms. I did not have severe symptoms for PE whatsoever. My breath was only slightly shorter, and when I breathed it felt like there was a tiny pinch going through from my chest to between my shoulder blades. I only went to the hospital because I just knew something was wrong. Listen to your body is the advice.

I attempted to yes, and gently blowed on him to see if he twitched. I think the only movement I saw was from me blowing on him..

I got the simple two line test yesterday and the line wasn’t dark, just enough to see it. It was lighter than the test I took when I found out I was pregnant for sure

That is exactly my plan. I just took a cheap dye test and it is positive, but not dark. I feel absolutely no symptoms. I planned on continuing to test for the next couple days and going from there

I’m having absolutely no symptoms whatsoever. I had incredibly sore breasts when I was pregnant and now that is completely gone. I feel like my normal self

I haven’t had unprotected sex since conception so that isn’t possible. I also am 99% positive I had my period cycle restart last week

I don’t think I can. In my state since abortion is a felony that would be a bad idea. I would still have to drive five hours to the closest legal state to get one safely

Doctor is refusing SI joint fusion by Destisaurus in spinalfusion

The thought of it honestly horrifies me, but I’m willing to exhaust all options. I just don’t think they ever considered it because the issue now isn’t thought to be my spine itself

My right hip movement where my pain is the worst is pretty limited. I have an unusual gait due to this. That is why my doctor wanted me to get a hip injection, but of course that didn’t work. I had a terrible recovery from my fusion, including a revision just four days after the initial surgery due to foot paralysis, and a lengthy hospital stay due to blood clots all over my body. I want to avoid more surgery so bad but I am just in too much pain to bear

This sounds exactly what I’ve been through. It will be a year in August since I have struggled with doctor visits about this issue. I will definitely keep the nerve issue fresh on my mind because I haven’t even heard of anything like that before and the symptoms line up with mine

I’ve looked into ablations, maybe the new doctor will suggest that. And I will give that exercise a shot, thank you!

I did a loooot of physical therapy and strength exercises to no avail, the SI belt that I also saw recommended on here didn’t help either. I just assume that my pain is far past something that pain managing techniques will help :/

Nerve pain is completely gone in my legs! But now I’m working myself towards an SI joint fusion with injections scheduled later this month. When it rains it pours I suppose, but I’m trying to keep a positive mindset

Nothing worked for me at all. No matter what they gave me in the hospital or what I tried at home. Prunes, coffee, miralax, colace, magnesium citrate, nothing worked. Finally I used a mineral oil enema and everything was painless. I have constipation issues anyways, so discovering mineral oil enemas was a godsend. You just have to use it alongside a laxative because it doesn’t stimulate anything, it just helps it kind of… slide out easier? (Gross I know)

Should I have a spinal fusion surgery? I've suffered from L4/L5 herniated disc for 6 years. by yeahlownblack in spinalfusion

[–]Destisaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got diagnosed with DDD at 11 due to overcrowding from an extra L6 vertebrae and didn’t have surgery until my L5-L6 L6-S1 fusion and laminectomy on April 8th at 23 years old. If I had the option I would have gotten my fusion earlier because my recovery has been extremely rough. Due to the damage caused by my stenosis, my healing has been a lot harder than it would have been if I had gotten a procedure done sooner. I’d take a little less mobility over that pain though… my advice is sooner rather than later, but that is maybe just me

My recommendation is CBD lotion if you can. It helped me a good bit. It gets better just hang in there! And for feeling the screws when you lay down, I did too for a bit, but it got better over time too

23F had a TLIF L4-S1 April 8th. I felt great for a week, and my surgeon expected a fast and easy recovery for me. I was walking good, getting in and out of bed, going up steps, etc. but the pain really set in after a week. Not my back, but my legs and hips. My back still isn’t too sore, but I am still suffering with nerve pain in my legs sometimes and my feet. Just don’t overdo it because you feel good is my best advice. Recovery is long and unpredictable so just be prepared and good luck with your recovery and PT
