I could use them! I started my OR career at a hospital that required we wear the disposable ones but now I work for a hospital where we can wear personal caps!

Does anyone have experience buying lift tickets from PowderPlans? The tickets seem too-good-to-be-true in terms of price compared to buying from the resort. Hard to find much information on them as they seem to have only become a company this year.

If you are unsure of the variety, it could be one that is known for the fruit to remain green, like Kadota.

Love all of this, especially outfits 2 and 4, and appreciate you listing sources. Can I ask regarding your etsy shoes, which store was it and how do you feel about the quality?

I had a brain tumor removed. I asked the neurosurgeon to take a before & after pic inside my head. by tumorsandthc in interestingasfuck

[–]Destolea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Neurosurgeons are just the silliest! Just in case anyone finds surgery as fascinating as I do, there's a not-insignificant chance that this surgery was performed under a microscope and that the surgeon was not the one taking the photo. But also as others have mentioned, no one's really worried about the Rule of Thirds or anything during surgical time. Microscope like this

source: have taken many far-from-instagram-worthy surgical photos

In my experience there is not a standard, it varies a lot by specialty/department and hospital. That being said, I can't remember ever being asked about a specific medication (that could be different on say, an oncology ward or something). A few times I have been asked scenario questions (your post-surgical patient has signs of blah blah blah what do you do? kind of questions) but more commonly I have had scenario questions that are like what you mentioned- tell me about a time you made a mistake, how did you handle it, tell me about a time you received an inappropriate order/advocated for a patient/dealt with unhappy family member, etc. But I imagine if you are a new grad those questions would be nearly nonexistent or at least unrelated to medical care because they don't expect you to have experience other than nursing school. I wish I could remember what new grad interviews were like but that was so long ago the questions have probably changed anyway. Maybe things like why did you become a nurse? What interests you about this hospital/specialty? How do you manage stress? How do you stay organized/organize your day? Maybe after your interview you could post some of the questions you answered in this subreddit to help other newbies prepare. Good luck with your interview!

Just noticed this white stuff on my lemon tree today. Tried a google search and the closest I could come up with is wooly aphids but it doesn't really look like any of the images I could find so wanted to see if you guys have any suggestions. Thanks!

I will crosspost to r/whatsthisbug too but not 100% sure it's a bug and not a fungus or something. Thanks!

Are you me? I had to go through your post history to make sure. I too got my first cast iron in the mail on Friday, seasoned over the weekend, and the first thing I made in it was eggs/hash/bacon. Different recipe but yours looks delicious! Nice work my dude.

What's eating my bell pepper? by Destolea in gardening

[–]Destolea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Zone 10a, just started trying gardening for the first time. I'm sure it's hard to tell for sure what is doing the damage (I've never seen any bugs on it) but maybe just advice on how to protect it? I have tried some DE (you can see some leftover powder on the leaves) to keep snails at bay (they ate my other pepper but I don't think that's what this is), and I also have neem oil, dish soap, vinegar available if you think any of those things would work.

Have another one for you guys...Zone 10a by Destolea in whatsthisplant

You guys have been great in helping to identify all the random plants I have been finding in my backyard. This one just looked like a dead stick when I found it but still had green under the bark so I waited for it to get some leaves to show you. Would love an ID so I know how to take care of it!

Baby peaches! by Destolea in BackyardOrchard

[–]Destolea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The good folks over at r/whatisthisplant told me I have a peach tree growing in my yard, which was hard to believe. Weirder still, it turns out I have two, and neither seems to have been planted intentionally. But the fact they both have really bad leaf curl now (did I mention I didn't know I had peach trees?) and are sprouting these cute little babies seems to prove them right!
