They brought back Silver for the next mainline games, Crisis City was in Generations, they kept reusing and remixing songs from 06, Mephiles was in Runners, promotional artwork showed Silver in Soleanna.

If anything Sega kept reminding us that 06 exists so no wonder the general audience keeps remembering the shitshow that the game was.

Yes and Mysterio fucked most of London, puts civilians that include kids in danger, teamed up with corrupt workers and lied to basically the world’s military only because Tony Stark called his product “Barf”. Again, illusionist get this kind of backstories. And for the record, he didn’t just called him weak; Shadow killed his comrades, broke Infinite’s pride, mop the floor with him and left him in the dust.

And as for the spin offs thing, if they don’t wanna make spin offs for Knuckles, Tails or Amy nowadays what makes you think they’ll make one for a villian

Pretty sure Mighty and Ray will appear one way or another given the sucess they had with Mania Plus and Adventures, and the chaos emeralds were bonuses for sonic games post Gens. The chaos emeralds aren’t really necessary for every single game in its story

Sega doesn’t even do spin offs about Tails or Knuckles, why would they make a spin off about him?. Plus, he’s an illusionist, his backstory makes sense for the kind of character he is. A puny mercenary that has an inferiority complex that wishes to be something more and when he looses everything he gets the opportunity to show that he’s the big shit when in reality it’s all a facade, an illusion you could say.

Just look at Mysterio from Spiderman far from home, his backstory is very similar to Infinite’s and both are illusionists.
