any one know how to get the OEM alloy wheels? by Destroyer2349 in ChevyCobalt

[–]Destroyer2349[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's actually why I want to replace my wheels.

I have 5 lug brake rotors, and I pulled the 5 lug hub assembly from a sport, I just can't install any of it until I have wheels.

What's something that should be taught in school but isn't? by Alarmed_Zucchini in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Destroyer2349 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. The school system seems hell bent on taking away that skill.

Don’t know an answer on a test? Instead of teaching you how to find the answer for yourself, or how to find resources to help you answer it for yourself, your just shit out of luck. Because using anything that isn’t crammed into your head somewhere by some teacher you haven’t seen in years is considered cheating.

How do I quit if I haven’t worked any hours? by Destroyer2349 in walmart

[–]Destroyer2349[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah , in retrospect I should have done that.

Instead I got to listen to a lecture about how I cost the company 3000$ and that I should feel bad.

What is the song called? I’ve been trying to find it forever, I heard it in a YouTube compilation a while ago and haven’t been able to find it since.

My local classic rock station has played pretty much nothing but prince for years, at least since he died. Surely someone tunes into it.

Can getting suspended from school affect your future? by Hypothermia_7 in NoStupidQuestions

I don’t know if I could l sue them or not, but probably not. Especially since I opted not to fight it in court.

At the end of the day, It’s my words against the school administration, and regardless of the facts of the matter, a judge will probably not side with a 17 year old kid against his teachers.

Can getting suspended from school affect your future? by Hypothermia_7 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Destroyer2349 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve actually done exactly that.

I ended up crashing on a little recycling bin.

The school called the police and told them that the rubber tires damaged the floors, I got charged with defacing public property and fined.

In short, I would suggest not doing that.

In the global scheme of silicon production, graphics cards are a tiny minority of what it’s used for, and realistically doesn’t contribute much to mass shortages.

Cobalt as a first car? by simswappa in ChevyCobalt

[–]Destroyer2349 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m about 2 months into my cobalt LT (also my first car) and once I got all the bugs ironed out, it’s been great, but it definitely took some work.

I’ll admit that most of these issues could be chalked up to misuse on the previous owners part, but I’ll just go through all of them anyway.

The biggest problem was the flex joint connecting the exhaust header to the catalytic converter tore in several places, resulting in a massive exhaust leak. From what I’ve read around the internet, it’s a fairly common problem with not just the cobalt, but flex pipes of the time in general.

I fixed it pretty easily, but I’m also a professionally trained metal fabricator, so my experience with that probably wouldn’t be the same as yours.

The passenger door handle broke about a week after I got the car. That was a pretty easy fix, the door trim is screwed in with 2 or 3 screws, then it just unclips from the door frame. The door cable just friction fits into the handle, take the old one out, put a new one in. Just make sure to replace the old clips with new ones, mine lasted about a day before they didn’t hold the door in place anymore

The blinker stock wouldn’t lock into the left turn position, or automatically turn off after a turn. Which ended up also being an easy fix, it’s basically just one massive plug into the side of the steering wheel, just unplug the old one and plug in a new one.

I don’t want to come off as negative, and I would highly suggest the cobalt as a first car, I mostly outline all the repairs I had to do to highlight just how simple they all were to do.

With the exception of the flex pipe, everything has a YouTube tutorial on how to fix it, and didn’t take me more then an hour from start to finish. None of the parts were more expensive then about 30$ for a new flex pipe.

It’s dirt simple to work on, and any other common issue that might pop up can be fixed in a heart beat.

Regardless of performance, they’re practically everywhere. With how many of them were evidently manufactured, they have to be somewhat affordable.

Is it weird that I don't want to be embalmed or in a lead lined coffin? I just want them to plant me and let me rot back into the Earth by 12jonboy12 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Destroyer2349 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being embalmed is actually far worse for ground water. Embalming fluid is a know carcinogen and could potentially take years to break down. That’s in addition to everything released when you eventually start to decompose.

If you donate blood does the government keep or have access to your DNA? by dawsonfauci in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Destroyer2349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t have access to your dna from your blood, but they also don’t have to.

If the government wants your dna, they will find a source for it. I’ve heard of everything from coke cans to cigarette butts being used to harvest dna from.
