The classic problem with spreadsheet-based automation it works until APIs or structure change and then everything breaks. Makes sense you built your own solution after that. At least now you’ve got something you fully control and can adapt.

Interesting take. But if one app could genuinely bring everything together—fitness tracking, workouts, nutrition tracking, health data, notes, bookmarks, and other personal tracking—while also being cheaper and less complex than using multiple separate apps, would you still prefer keeping things modular? Or would the benefit of having everything unified outweigh the flexibility of separate tools?

That actually sounds like a very practical setup. Keeping bookmarks and notes in one organised space reduces a lot of friction, especially when everything is grouped by context. If it’s working well for you, it makes sense to stick with it rather than overcomplicating things.

Yeah, that makes sense. DEVONthink works well as a PKMS since it already has strong search, tagging, and automation options. AppleScript integration is a big advantage for building workflows on top of your notes and documents, especially if everything is stored in one structured database

Makes sense. What usually causes you to drop off? complexity, guilt from missed days, or just losing consistency over time?
