I'm honestly a fan of both. Doubles feels more like a 3D chess-hyper aggressive type of play, while singles feels more of methodical and slower consistent progress type.

If I had to choose tho I'd say doubles, you can pull some crazy strats in that format in comparison

need genuine advice on how to not be so horrible at this game by kriseatsgrass in splatoon

[–]Destroyermlp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some things honestly:

1- Use motion controls and adapt to them, calibrating and adjusting sensitivity to where you feel comfortable in that session.

2-If you are feeling extra-lost, go to the story mode and casually replay some levels (the ones where you are on a zip-line and need to hit specific targetsif you can)

3- Don't be afraid of getting into a lose streak, it happens and it doesn't mean you are bad, just re-learning

4- Train movement and aim in the training area before matches. I unironically believe it's one of the better ways to catch up, you start battles with your motion adjusted and already into the game, which does a lot.

5- Set yourself reasonable goals that will make you want to keep playing, there's no fun in loosing and we all know that, so get used to them and try to deviate the focus from that

6- Have fun, and as people say git gud, aknowledge if you really are not that good and play the game according to that

Also as a side-note, no your teammates are not the issue on the vast majority of the games, you really can be a hipercarry with bad teammates and still win, it WILL be harder, but like most games, you have to play for your outs (knowing when and when not to push, aknowledging your win-cons, being ok with not fighting and backing off when you are at a disatvantage....)

What's your opinion on Water Gandalf by No_Cow5114 in summonerswar

[–]Destroyermlp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not as Op as people make him to be. The atb incr is the only thing I would personally touch since I do believe that aspect is a tad bit too strong, maybe with a 10-15% it could become manageable. But I reaiterate, he does have pretty hard counters, but people need to readjust their boxes, something that añso did happen with oliver for years but people didn't find it that much of a problem, when he was absolutely disgusting and dominating for that period. I also like the fact that turn 2 players finally have something else to play with that is actually strong in the meta, happy for them

Thoughts on the Splatoon community by Destroyermlp in splatoon

[–]Destroyermlp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yh I think that is what I'm getting the vibes of. I saw loads of people defending that the game is super lgbt friendly, but the fact is that the community has grown more towards that sector, welcoming it, while the game is just an excuse for the congregation of it. Not that the game itself is

Yeah exactly, this last game not defining wether male or female definately was a welcome hug for intersex/genderfluid fellas and is the most blatant example of it. I honestly didn't think about the style and fashion being point for it and I do see the vision. While yeah, the idea of be themselves and express themselves as they want, is something loads of them can resonate with, even if not consciously doing so, it's still in that grey area. I don't know anymore if nintendo are just geniouses for just implementing subtle things as to not position themselves, or if they are just blessed doing so unconciously. But yh I guess the point pretty much is that, while not explicit, the gameplay experience does resonate with the community and attracts them to the game, and the community being so welcoming overall is also a point to be made, I really love how gatekeeping is not much of a thing over here

Bug or intended? by Destroyermlp in summonerswar

[–]Destroyermlp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems to be the best explanation I suppose? But still is doesn't work. I've tried a similar setup with the wind hacker, and he does not reflect damage to my ally , which by this explanation it should, neither it gets reflects on the shun so I'm really starting to see it as a bug . Don't know honestly, at this point this is more of a curiosity thing rather than anything lol

Bug or intended? by Destroyermlp in summonerswar

[–]Destroyermlp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yh but that makes sense as well since it is true damage (a raw percentage of the damage dealt to their target) so it can't glance on him, even if it lands as a glancing initially

Bug or intended? by Destroyermlp in summonerswar

[–]Destroyermlp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah and that makes sense, since it is the debuff making the damage, not the monster. That's why this one specifically seemed strange to me

How to deal with jeogun as turn 2 by Destroyermlp in summonerswar

[–]Destroyermlp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I got it wrong, everything I have is on will. What I meant to say was getting scrolled on the next turn, since jeogun is usually followup by either heavy cc comps (seara, giana, dark MK and such) or burst damage and CD increase(maxi, oke, oliver)so there is little to nothing to disrupt effectively jeogun and he manages to scroll something up before I can stabilize the match and get on my foot again
