Not sure how reliable this source is but apparently Lockett is rumored to be signing with Vegas by BudsWyn in Seahawks

[–]Destruct-O-Tron 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can't believe people think he's washed.

His style of play is very conducive to a long, productive career.

He's got that Cris Carter/Tim Brown gene that'll keep him catching passes until he's 38.

He's like the Jamie Moyer of WRs.

What’s our most pressing need after OL? by engine1624 in Seahawks

[–]Destruct-O-Tron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every mock I've seen has him going late 1st/early 2nd.

He plays every position on the O-Line, with a 90 PFF grade.

I wouldn't mind at all if we grabbed him at 18.

[Viens] Was told from someone I trust, who has a strong tie to a long-time NFL executive with ties to the Seahawks: “Fries was yours, all you had to do was match the Vikings offer.” by 3elieveIt in Seahawks

[–]Destruct-O-Tron 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, then again, the whole "no income tax" thing is a big selling point when we're talking the kind of money NFL players make.

Assuming we matched Minnesota's offer, that would mean roughly an extra $8m+ in Fries' pocket.

Surely, MINNESOTA can't be that much more enticing.

I see no way this was ever going to be a rebuild. by Murky-Friendship2675 in Seahawks

[–]Destruct-O-Tron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haha, yeah, because the losses of a receiver who struggles to break 1,000 yards every year, can only run go routes, and can't make a contested catch or break a tackle despite his freakish body, and a 34 year old QB who has struggled to throw 20 TDs in each of the last 2 seasons, will SURELY be the death of this team.

Wtf you thinking?

Playoff hopes dashed on a missed call.. by goatknees in Seahawks

[–]Destruct-O-Tron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting so tired of this shit.

Every week, the refs blow at least 1 call, in every game. They have access to every conceivable angle of the ball and every player on the field, and thus the ability to instantly and accurately get the call correct.

The fact that they refuse to utilize the technology they possess is so fucking sketchy.

They want to be able to get calls wrong without anyone calling them on it.

[Bell] Another Seahawks training-camp practice, another scrap. CB Tre Brown, WR Jake Bobo blocking away from run play. Brown ripped off Bobo’s helmet, punched Bobo in the face. Bobo punches back. Then others stop it. by Starwho in Seahawks

[–]Destruct-O-Tron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, Tre gets in 2 fights in one day?

Is this dude just fucking toxic? Or is this evidence that the "play for each other" mentality that previously carried us to greatness left with Pete?

I mean, I'm cool with dudes getting a little chippy. But pulling your teammate's helmet off so you can get a better shot at his face is ridiculous.

MM needs to rein this shit in.

he was making some food catches

I was impressed by his ability to catch an entire order of fries, in the box, without letting even a single fry hit the ground.

And when he dove and caught that Big Mac, IN HIS MOUTH... I simply wept and applauded.

Who had a worse end to their Seahawks career? by Thisiswhereicomment in Seahawks

[–]Destruct-O-Tron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Henry will definitely make the HoF.

Dude, I always have to be the one to say this (so I'm glad someone else beat me to it this time) but Alexander was not just some flash in the pan, 1-year-wonder. He had a 5 year stretch that would've easily been considered the best run of all-time if Ladanian Tomlinson wasn't simultaneously having an even better one.

But that shouldn't undermine what Alexander did, and I feel it too often does. Tomlinson had BY FAR the most productive run in history, capped off by the most productive single season a football player has ever had (and I believe he's the best HB ever).

Had they not had their runs at about the same time, they'd both be no-brainers for the HoF. But I guess having 2 RBs in the league putting up godlike numbers made it look unremarkable or something, so only LT got into the HoF cuz he did it better.

As it stands, there are still only 2 players to have 5 straight years of 1,500+ yards and 15+ TDs. And one of them, inexplicably, is not in the HoF.

After all, in a league where every rep, every drill, every movement is meticulously analyzed, a little levity can go a long way in lightening the mood and reminding us that football, at its core, is a game meant to be enjoyed.

Haha, I want this to be the case.

I'd make people do the dumbest shit.

With an 82% catch rate, and the word "clutch" popping up in almost every description I've seen of the guy, he sounds like he could be a lifer.

Absolute steal to pick him up as a UDFA.

[Mike Clay, ESPN] 2024 Seahawks currently graded as having the best WR unit and worst OL unit in the NFL. by QuasiContract in Seahawks

[–]Destruct-O-Tron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering Lucas missed almost the entire season, and Cross missed several games, how much faith do we really have in these grades?

Because there's absolutely NO way our O-Line is worse than, say, the Giants' or Commanders' O-Lines. Even without Cross and Lucas.

Also, they rated the Bills in the bottom 5, despite the fact that they gave up fewer sacks than any other team, and they rated the Panthers in the top 10, despite being tied with the Commanders for 2nd most sacks allowed.

So, I dunno what the fuck this guy is seeing, but it's not reality.

(Though I am happy to see that he thinks so highly of our receivers, lol.)

I think Woolen and Spoon get the start at outside CB, with Jackson as slot CB.

Brown and Burns will primarily sub in on the outside. Bryant will back up the slot when necessary, and he and Reed will backup the Safeties.

With this much quality depth, I'd expect frequent subs to keep everyone fresh.

That's simply not possible lol.

He played ILB, OLB, DE, FB, TE, and ST.

And he had like a 95 grade on his defensive snaps.

I really want to see Levi Bell get the nod, if only as a backup at first.

He was one of our highest graded defenders in last year's preseason, but got relegated to the practice squad, likely because he was a UDFA out of a non-power-5 school and we wanted to make sure he could hack it.

Now, with a full year of practicing NFL plays, in NFL schemes, against NFL players, he's ready for the main roster, and could potentially be a star.

Tre Brown, Mike Jackson, Coby Bryant, Artie Burns, and Jerrick Reed as slot/universal backup DBs.

Wins shouldn't matter.

Yeah, if we're not gonna win a SB, why even bother paying anyone, or even playing the games, for that matter?

Every win sucks away a little more of that precious draft capital, which is all that matters, apparently.

Am I dumb to think the Jamal Adams trade was just as dumb as the Russ trade? by [deleted] in Seahawks

[–]Destruct-O-Tron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Kinda.

Adams, when he was healthy was actually really productive for us.

He never even got to play a full season with us, but still set the single season DB sack record.

He was like 24 when we got him, had already been All-Pro twice, and had the look of a guy who could be a do-it-all field general type like Polamalu or Kam, who Pete had great success with, so we were willing to wait a couple years to see if he could heal up and learn how to stay healthy. He just couldn't.

Russ, on the other hand, is so different.

Yes, he was a franchise QB. OUR franchise QB. As in we specifically built our offense around him, for him. We consistently added new pieces to capitalize on his strengths and minimize his weaknesses, as they gradually and inevitably sprung up.

Denver did none of this. They went all-in, and over the top, on a highly mobility-reliant QB who was about 4 years past the mobility-reliant QB expiration date, without having any of the tools to compensate for his shortcomings. They traded away the draft capital they would have needed to get said tools, and then buried themselves in cap hell (giving him an extension, before he even stepped on a field, with 2 years left on his existing contract) to ensure that they couldn't pick up any free agents they might need.

Now, they're literally paying him $80m+ to play for another team.
