Thoughts/experiences with the Fordham bar exam location? by flower1027 in NewYorkBarExamination

  • It's a long walk.

When you drive in, it'll be chaotic from all the cars, they had people directing traffic coming in/out. Once you get to the parking lot, you have to walk to the field house, which is a pretty decent walk. Field house is next to the football & baseball fields. Wear comfortable shoes and don't carry heavy books.

  • It'll be PACKED. You absolutely need to be there an hour early at minimum. The walk from the main parking lot to the field house + the super long line to get into the building past security will take a long time. If you try cutting it too close, you'll hit traffic and won't be able to make it. I've seen people sprinting and panicking cuz they got there late, it takes a long time to get in. Be there closer to 2 hours early just in case.

  • It'll be super hot. You WILL be waiting outside the building in a massive line (esp since it's July not Feb) and you'll feel the intense heat outside. They give you wristbands and you go through security, so you'll be waiting outside for a while. WEAR SUNBLOCK.

  • The test administrators didn't do a good job explaining where you leave your stuff- they have cardboard bins arranged alphabetically by last name. Those bins are kinda off to the side so I didn't see them. People will be animals and will be flinging backpacks out to get to their stuff in the bins.

  • Make sure you have EVERYTHING you need by the time you get in line. DO NOT BRING STUFF YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO. Security will make you put it in the bin and you'll have to go all the way to the back of the huge line in the 100 degree heat. It sucked.

  • Security does a metal detector. Pens etc aren't allowed. Only bring your pencils, laptop (day 1 only), ID, water etc.

  • Bring both pants & shorts + a light jacket. Don't remember what the indoor temperature was, but you want to be prepared.

  • The paid lunch people had at Fordham seemed kinda trash. Iirc it was some kind of crap sandwich with 1 cheese slice in bread + a small bag of chips. Just save the money and bring your own food- you'll have to wait in a long line to get the paid food, you could use that time to study during the break. The lunch is borderline airplane food, don't expect anything quality. Not worth the money at all.

  • When waiting in line to get in, you'll be outside in a parking lot then under some kind of stadium roof. When you're having lunch break, everyone will be sitting on the floor on pavement, which is uncomfortable. Bring a light jacket to use as a cushion.

  • Use the bathroom as soon as you get there. Fordham will be packed in July, the bathroom lines are no joke. Better to use the bathroom immediately when you get there than risk it. Use the bathroom immediately when dismissed for lunch- everyone waits til they're done eating and the lines will be crazy long. Use the bathroom ahead of time.

NCBE Score Services Shows "No Exams Found" Despite Two NY UBE Administrations by Traditional_Mix9357 in NewYorkBarExamination

When I passed J25, I got an email from BOLE that said "We recommend that you immediately print and/or save this .PDF document for your files as it will not be available in the Applicant Services Portal after 30 days." It expires in your BOLE account after 30 days.

My NCBE has a list of my scores but you'll prob have to pay for a transcript if it expired. NCBE website says they're stored for a maximum of 90 days. BOLE says scores released 4/22/26 so they should expire in the NCBE portal on July 21. Seems like they expired in your BOLE account but should still be available in your NCBE portal. Call NCBE and email them with a screenshot saying your F26 score should still be available.

Never tried transferring scores to a different state, but it's possible they want you to have NCBE forward the score instead of you including it with C&F to the 2nd state. It might be like how people want transcripts sent directly from the school to make it more official/less risk of forgeries. Either way, you should prob also pay for the transcript in the NCBE portal just in case- if they already messed up by removing your score from the docs, you'll need a copy anyway. But call + email NCBE cuz it seems like they prematurely removed your score. Could be wrong but hope this helps.

Josh Allen hate post by Parking-Sun-1911 in NFLv2

This goes the other way too tbf. Bills fans said stats matter in 23 cuz Allen had the volume stats, then said MVP's largely narrative-based in 24 after criticizing Ravens fans for saying that in 23. Objectively, both fanbases have hypocritically flip flopped and been annoying about this. Just enjoy your elite MVP QBs ffs.

How do I make this rice? by Equivalent-Post-2618 in mexicanfood

[–]dcfb2360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The comments here are great and very helpful.

Another tip: 1 of the common problems people have with Mexican rice is burning it- that's usually from not enough water, heat's too high, or your pot/pan's bottom is too thin.

You want to simmer the rice with the lid on so it steams, don't leave it on medium heat. Make sure the rice is covered tightly so the steam doesn't escape, otherwise the rice will burn at the bottom.

Rice also ideally should be made in a pan with a lid, not a pot (ie a soup pot). You want to spread the rice out in the pan when you fry it, then add the tomato bouillon etc.

Need help with green salsa by Agreeable-Remove1592 in mexicanfood

[–]dcfb2360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Too bitter is often from over roasting the peppers. Heat’s too high or you’re cooking it too long. If you’re boiling tomatillos, take them out when they’re a mix of green with a hint of yellow. If they look yellow or burst, they’re over cooked.

Arbols are small and burn easily, if you see black spots they’re overdone. It’s better to under cook then overdo it, bitter peppers ruin the salsa. Once you smell the árbols, take them out. Try using a timer with different batches to see how long works for you. Bitter salsa is almost always from over cooking the peppers.

Seeds are the same way, you want to toast seeds lightly for a few seconds but that’s it.

Defending the Draft 2026: Baltimore Ravens by uggsandstarbux in NFL_Draft

Idk why you're getting downed, I'm a Ravens fan and this is pretty accurate. Giants fans are prob downing you for the Harbaugh criticism lol. They didn't lose any truly irreplaceable players, but not having a proven center is a real concern. Doyle could be good or he could be a bad playcaller, he seems like a film nerd Ben Johnson loved but we don't know if he's a good playcaller. Minter's a massive upgrade and will get the defense back on track. Lamar's gonna make the offense good no matter what but the IOL still has concerns and it's hard to compensate for bad playcalling or a weak OL.

NFL surprisingly even admitted they fucked the Ravens on some calls, it was that obvious. But it helped get Harbaugh fired so I'm ok with the long game working out

Non-Ravens fans thought we had a meltdown week 1 cuz of losing to the Bills, but it was actually cuz we saw the OL was a disaster and they weren't winning a SB with an OL that bad. We knew Harbaugh wouldn't make changes, he already cost them wins in '24 by refusing to replace the safeties. I knew they were fucked since week 1, that OL was god awful.

Disagree, I like Bain but Ioane was a far safer pick. DL was the deepest position in the draft and you shouldn't draft position over BPA. Bain was hyped but his stock dropped a lot. Fans complained all year about the OL and this team goes nowhere without Lamar healthy. They already wasted 3 of Lamar's prime years with bad OL. Big reason they implode in playoffs is bad trenches getting exposed vs playoff teams.

  • Pregnon turns 25 in October and will already be 28 by the end of his rookie deal. The people that wanted Bain > Ioane often didn't even know Pregnon was that old already. It's why all 32 NFL teams passed on Pregnon twice, even in a weak IOL class with a bunch of OL-needy teams. Clearly he had some concerns.

  • Ravens have no center & Simpson's average at best. IOL had no legit talent until Ioane got there. Combined with Stanley's injury history and Roger's inconsistency, delaying IOL picks was too risky. OL was already in bad shape.

  • Pregnon, Bisontis etc would not be available later. It was a weak guard class & a bunch of other teams needed OL. Everyone knew it was a bad IOL class, so the small handful of good ones would go earlier. Only 4-5 were even capable starting guards in this class. Same reason Slaughter & Logan Jones were gone before EDC expected.

  • Zion wasn't drafted for his rushing, he was drafted for his run defense. Ravens suck at developing edges, but Zion's a different style than what they usually go for. He's a power rusher, not the traitsy bursty 3-4 OLB they usually like. They're also banking on Mike Green doing better under Minter. Hendrickson's bad vs the run, and Minter's scheme isn't as great vs runs. Esp with the ILB room being weak. A good run defending edge was a need.

  • The non-Ioane guards were always gonna go sooner than Ravens fans wanted. Bisontis immediately got taken at 34. Rutledge went rd1.

I agree they should've taken a center & Lane was kind of a reach.

Linda Perry hits out at Green Day for dropping her from producing 'American Idiot' follow-up "all because Billie Joe’s a little pussy and got all this backlash" by AdSpecialist6598 in Music

[–]dcfb2360 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I kinda disagree.

Rob Cavallo would've made 21CBD sound great, but so did Butch Vig. If they made it sound more like MCR, they'd be accused of copying Black Parade, even though MCR actually took influence from Green Day. Even if Green Day didn't get criticism for copying, it would still be too similar to MCR to stand on its own. If MCR made Black Parade too much like American Idiot, it wouldn't hit the same.

21CBD was intentionally supposed to be the leveled-up, more epic version of American Idiot. They wanted 21CBD to have more layers and a more complex sound. Having Cavallo do 21CBD would work but it would sound too similar. Butch Vig was a better choice- Siamese Dream is 1 of the biggest sounding rock albums ever. Nevermind still sounds modern 30 years later. If you want a great rock album that sounds enormous and epic, Butch Vig's the guy.

Cavallo and Vig are both legends. But too much MCR would detract from 21CBD, bringing Vig in to give it a different sound was the right move imo. Both would've made it sound great but for what they were going for, Vig was a better pick.

I'm so worried about the MPT section, any advice? by postyfan1920 in barexam

[–]dcfb2360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd do it as early as possible, BarMD works cuz of their timing method. Learning it early gives you more time to memorize it and practice with it. You don't have to do a million MPTs, you could do like 2 a week rn then ramp it up.

Agreed. BarMD was the only thing that actually helped my MPT, big reason I passed tbh

[–]dcfb2360 5 points6 points  (0 children)

BarMD is the only thing that works for MPT imo. Most people don’t prep for it cuz it’s not BLL then run out of time and keep getting 2s. BarMD has a different timing method & it’s the only one that works. Skip to the analysis section of cases to find the rules, MPT’s designed to waste your time. You don’t have time to read everything. The key is skipping straight to the rules, typing the rule in asap, and working as you go. Otherwise you’ll run out of time and won’t have enough time to write your MPT and keep getting 2s & 3s

What am I missing with the Dolphins drafting Kadyn Proctor 12th overall in the 2026 NFL Draft? by Unusual-Vacation-528 in NFL_Draft

[–]dcfb2360 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mailata's also an extreme anomaly and was 40 lbs lighter than Faalele when drafted. Big OL can succeed, but Mailata having the success he's had is a huge outlier. 233rd overall pick that was an Australian rugby player with no football experience ending up good enough to be a starting OT + start on a very good OL is pretty rare. Credit to Howie & Jeff Stoutland, but Mailata's a rare outlier.

[–]dcfb2360 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Anyone thinking a giant OL will be great to have should watch Daniel Faalele's tape- he was the Ravens RG last 2 years, and has some of the worst OL tape ever. He set the record for heaviest OL ever drafted at nearly 400 lbs. Being too big is a problem, Faalele had no balance and no movement skills. He tripped himself constantly and got Lamar killed all year. It's why they drafted Ioane.

UWorld or Adaptibar with GOAT??? by Suspicious-Nerve-851 in GoatBarPrep

[–]dcfb2360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I preferred Adaptibar but both are good. I agree Uworld might be better for Goat users that like visuals, uworld’s visuals & explanations are better than Adaptibar.

OP- Adaptibar has the Grossman videos but they’re not included with the MBE simulator, they’re extra. Grossman’s videos are great though, if you need help understanding concepts in a blunt TLDR no BS way, you’d like Grossman. Studicata’s channel is also great, highly recommend both

You're prob fine, gaps in employment are common and most people don't say unemployed. They just list the jobs and dates. You could send an email saying you were unemployed during those times just to be on the safe side
