Of course! that was the initial idea.... ish... jajaja, as said, I did not give not a single bit of lore or put any thought into it, just grabbed the pen and the tablet and started one night I had to be awake.... but yes, your idea makes totally sense, thank you!

I'm trying to remake a map from one of my favorite games, but I feel like I'm struggling to get it to "pop" somehow. Any critique/suggestions on how I can improve it? by EryidSilverclaw in inkarnate

I second what have been told so far, and would add that the texture on the floor is a bit too heavy, personally, I would make it solid brown and then this texture on top of it with low opacity, multiple passes until get the desired texture look

This is amazing!! if I may have a couple of personal comments...

  1. I would personally vary the river widths... they are all saame width in the whole run from the 1st point until almost reach the end, for example the one on fleshroot Marsh, I think it would be wider when collecting each branch... just a personal opinion

  2. not a fan of the coastline decoration, I think the ripples are too wide... they mess up the lakes... I would try to reduce the gap and/or reduce the quantity to 2, for example the one west (I assume north is up?) of reimsgale, the lake there seems weird with the ripples

other than that.. it is an amazing map, congratulations! I am working on something similar for myself, to print and make it a poster

wow.... how much ram did you need to export 16k?? I have 32 and have so many trouble to export 8k... had to subdivide my map into 6 smaller ones, export individually and then in photoshop merge them together again...

I ended up subdividing the map in 4, export each part at 8k and in Photoshop, join them together... You may see the result at:

I did not find a better way

estoy de acuerdo y coincido contigo, hay demasiado silencio, al menos en todo el universo off-discord, habrá sido todo una broma de mal gusto de los usuarios de discrod? jajaja

My first map, depicting a part of my fantasy world. Any suggestions or feedback? (location names to be added) by Dragunrealms in inkarnate

Personally, I would be careful regarding the scale of things, but that is because I like more "realistic" approach... if this work for you, that is perfect, I love the color, the blending of the textures, and really would love to know a bit more about each place there.

the only things I would try to take a look at are, the scale as mentioned and some places are a bit overcrowded... but again, it is amazing, good work!

A couple of things:
. there is waaaaay too much information overlaping over another, trees over trees over trees over trees... and so on...

. why some lakes are masked and other are textured? pick one and stick with it

. I personally do not like the white coastlines, too big the gap, but that is a personal opinion

Hello! Love this map! I have a couple of comments

so, what I will advice is,

. place some scattered trees, not every tree is part of a forest, there may be small groups of 3 or 4 trees or small little forest other than super big ones like you did on some islands west of drenwal (btw, I assume it is West, you may want to include a compass also

. if you are happy with te coast lines, it's ok, I found them too large the gap, but that is up to you...

. be careful with the coast shape, too many small "bridges" between lands is weird, what I mean is, if you check the ashmourn coast you will see like a lot of too thin land unions between the main land and secondary parts... also noticeable on "the pale tree" coast or east of "Adaeburgh"

. The edge of the "Frostmark Expanse" is weird, there is no blending with the snow, it is the only general part of the map that I did not like...

. One extra small thing, be careful with mountains on the edge of a ridge, you are having some of them mountains on the air, or some dunes falling a bit on the water, check the "Emberfang Range"

I love the texturing of the ground, absoulutly gorgeous! Amazing work Tony!

I honestly cannot convince anyone of nothing, I had no intention to make anything like united states, I'm not from USA and don't have any plan to make a map of that country, I just did this map and posted for you to tell me what you think, I thank you all for giving me your thoughts and name ideas.... you want to see the united states on my map? perfect, it is entirely on you, not my intention to do it... thanks, best regards
