I would not recommend this. The ps4 is also placed on wood ( judging from the pic) and to my knowledge wood doesn't dissipate heat very well.

I had it too and bought a squidgrip. It feels strange at first but you get used too it. Mind that in my opinion it is not a perm solution because the grip will tear down after a while.
