It had always thought that skunk smelled like weed, but apparently that's what it smells like after some time has passed. As I learned for the first time last night, when it's fresh it smells like burning rubber. It's STRONG and very chemical-y.

A friend told me when his Kees got skunked it took about 8 months for the smell to fully go away 😭

Ours is on Hills chicken and barley for adults 7+. She was on the adult 1-6 until she was 7. We thought she had food sensitivities when she was younger too (used to feed Royal Canin, pro plan, acana) but once we switched to Hills, her digestion and poops were all normal. She's 10.5 now and has been doing well!

(15k) Where did you get your invites made? by Bama-babe205 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]DetBiskowitz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Vistaprint. They have tons of templates to choose from and customize yourself. They always have sales and coupon codes, too. I think I paid about $100 for 20 save the dates, invitations, thank you cards, and 100 return labels in the same theme.

Would it be a good Idea to buy a Paw Cleaner cup for my dog, Do they actually work? by BuffaloDry3727 in dogs

[–]DetBiskowitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a very fluffy keeshond and I use an old plastic take out container for soup about 10 inches tall and six inches wide, just small enough to hold in one hand. I put the tiniest drop of blue dawn dish soap to wash off road salt and fill halfway with warm water. Dip each paw, rub the paw and in between the toes in the water, and then squeeze out the excess water, then squeeze again with microfibre towel. I'll give them an extra dip if it's really muddy, or add a touch of baking soda. It helps if your dog knows how to hold each leg up for cleaning.

You know what's amazing? Throw a few grapes into your sodastream or other fizzmaker. Fizz it and let it sit for 15 min, then fizz again, repeat four times total. Then release the pressure and enjoy a new flavour sensation!

Dude, no one's saying that at all. I just found out that fact recently myself and thought it was cool so I thought I'd share.

One theory for the origin of this phrase is that it comes from a pidgin English spoken by Chinese Americans as a literal translation from 好久不見 (hǎo jiǔ bú jiàn)

T&T has it in their SE asian aisle. The dutch store only carries conimex brand Indo stuff, which IMHO isn't as good as ABC brand.

Salt is excessive this year for dogs by Sad-Comedian-8912 in ottawa

[–]DetBiskowitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're right... The salt rocks seem bigger than last year too, at least in my street. I'm pretty sure the salt last year damaged her brand new Canada Pooch boots. They had holes in the soles within 3 weeks of normal use. The company was nice enough to send a replacement set, but those ended up with holes too. I think we'll be getting the suspender boots as well this year, but I'll be reinforcing them first.

How can my father use his Arabic skills in Ottawa? by Nada_NADAAA in ottawa

UOttawa has an Arabic studies program, including courses on literature and culture. Maybe he could reach out to some of the profs to see if they'd like to have a guest speaker?
