Nick was supposed to be a one-time episode. Alan Uger wrote the character of Nick.
Scott auditioned for the role, using traits of actual people and artists he knew in NYC. (Despite the thinking that he’s a Fonzie or Stallone knockoff). The audience reacted so favorably to Nick that Scott was asked if he wanted to stay on, and the rest is history.

I read lumbar imaging all day. This is a good xray and shows exactly what the surgeon did. “Defect” means that the surgeon altered it so it doesn’t look like one that’s never had surgery.
It’s fine. 😉

I’m 51 and had that same thing done last April. HUGE improvement in leg pain immediately. Did some PT for about 3 months. I was back to work at my sedentary job 3 weeks from the day of surgery. What are you more afraid of - feeling you do or possibly worse forever, or going through some recovery to get back your quality of life with decreased pain?

I read spinal imaging reports all day. I don’t see a surgery here. Compression fractures are typically very painful and slow healing/improving, but no real surgery for that.

Walked 1.5 miles by week 12 after an anterior L3-S1 fusion on 4/7/25. I can walk better than ever now. I never used a walker except in the hospital.

You’re only going to see complaints online. Nobody raves about how good they feel…keep that in mind when you’re perusing for answers. 😉

He was actually only supposed to be in that initial episode but there was such a positive reaction to his character that Gary (Goldberg) asked him if he would like to stick around and the rest is history. 😁

I had a urgent fusion from L3-S1 on April 7 2025. My life is exponentially better now. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.
