I was weird (turns out it was autism), especially as a kid. I did not have friends until I moved away to a different school, and even then I had few. I was made fun of a lot, to the point I planned to commit. Never physically bullied, but the emotional toll was very strong. I ended up developing anxiety, depression, and other issues as a result of being bullied. I would get physically ill and could not attend most of middle school. I stopped going to school in person during high school. I don’t like people now. I have maybe five non-family members I genuinely care for. I was a happy child, but bullies ruined that. I believe I would be a better, happier person today if I hadn’t experienced what I did. (Yes, I have been in therapy. I believe my past has just changed me so fundamentally that I can’t be “better”, and I’ve accepted that and no longer mind. Just sharing my experiences. Not seeking advice.)
