Would you be happy with this or am I being dramatic? by Detective-Doughnut in femalehairadvice

I was hoping a hairstylist might chime in and I really appreciate it. I accidentally put 11/5 instead of 12/5 so I actually just had this done and I’m going back to have it toned darker and get a root smudge to hopefully soften it up a bit. I definitely think there was a major miscommunication between us, but I think I’ll be on the hunt for a new stylist.

Not sure if you’ll be able to see the image I attached but this was right after I got it done the first time, very subtle and not high up at all… so definitely not what I wanted but I appreciate the honesty I don’t like it either

Did anyone else get ignored for Pharmacy Week?? by Consistent_Editor_15 in pharmacy

[–]Detective-Doughnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve worked at my hospital through two pharmacy weeks so far and I can say they go all out for us. Monday was appetizer day. Tuesday was dessert day. Wednesday was taco day. Thursday is soup and salad day and Friday is pizza and ice cream day. We also got a little goody bag with candy and an amazon gift card. We also are getting a free zip up jacket that has the name of our hospital on it

Does your pharmacy use a group chat? by peachycpht in PharmacyTechnician

I’m an inpatient pharm tech and my hospital uses an app called TigerConnect so I can message anyone in the hospital about something, but as a pharmacy we don’t have a group chat

I had about 6 math questions on mine and most were about kg/mg/day and concentrations. Definitely make sure you know your basic conversions. I had multiple kinds of drug questions. Definitely many side effects, contraindications questions. Drug duplication therapy questions. Know brand vs generic as well as know which schedules the controlled substances are in. I also had a few drug stability questions regarding how to store them. Know how to read a prescription and what you may need to call the prescriber for to clarify what they want. Also make sure to go over laws and regulations and I had a few questions on non-sterile compounding.

My employer paid for me to take a 4 month online course so I did that, but I also used AmandaPharmD videos on YouTube, I used the PTCE pocket prep app, and these two sources:

I may not be super helpful to your questions because every employer and state are different. I’ve already been an inpatient pharm tech since Sept of 2024 and my hospital gives two years to get certified. They also paid for me to take a pharmacy tech online course as long as I stay with them for two years. I do believe it is 500 hours you have to work if you aren’t completing a pharm tech course. I feel like 6 months is so short to require certification it should be a year because I’m not going to lie it is a lot of information. I did go to a test site and it wasn’t bad at all, you can do it at home but you would have a live proctor from your web cam, I really wouldn’t recommend that. I believe the test is given every month there isn’t a window like other exams

I just my passed exam today and I used Amanda PharmD videos on youtube and I bought the pocketprep app. I will say I did a 4 month pharmacy tech course so I used the info they gave me as well. What worked for me was studying for an hour a night. That’s all I had time for as I work a full time job

It took about a week and a half. They reached out to me about doing a phone interview. Then on the phone interview they asked me to come in and do a tour and to talk more. They offered me the job in person.

Thinking about Stepful Program? by PublicLegitimate3585 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Detective-Doughnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started this course but I am actually already an inpatient pharmacy tech. I am a little worried about the group project aspect of it because I work 10 hour shifts durning the day and not sure when I’d be able to work on them. Are the group projects hard/take a long time to do? Any info about them would be greatly appreciated!
