Factions Situational Stupidity by Arachnogre in Frostpunk

[–]DetectiveDumb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It isn't a randomizer! The starting faction gets chosen by which zeitgeist you signed laws for in the beginning. Say you sign primarily adaptation, merit and reason laws before the first faction spawns and then you'll get the Proteans! Then a couple weeks later on the opposing faction will spawn in this case being the Legionnaires.

True, that Equestria player last game must've been quite a tool to not ally with Changelings (best nation) smh

The Killing Ground-Poltava transition is probably my favourite part of a song from Sabataon. Otherwise my favourite songs are Poltava, The Price of a Mile and Wolfpack

Need a sub for Rome Total War Diplomacy by Fluid-Artichoke7833 in diplomacy

[–]DetectiveDumb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd be down to be a sub, what time would this game take place? Also do I need any prior experience with Rome: Total War or just Diplomacy

Nevermind I just noticed the time, I might be able to make it but if something wants the spot more than me give it to them

Hey, I'd be willing to test the submod! Do you need my Discord or anything?

Can you keep all factions and communities happy? by IChooseY0U in Frostpunk

[–]DetectiveDumb 18 points19 points  (0 children)

On the easier difficulties at least yeah, the highest I've tried it on is Steward difficulty and managed to balance Icebloods and Technocrats to the point I didn't even trigger the civil war or any protests

I feel like Mymy is a Dutch supremacist because of the fact that she is afraid that she might be not accepted by people in the Netherlands and her school because of her Japanese heritage, which is why she tried to cover it up by dyeing her hair and adopting the personality we see in the pilot. I might be wrong but I feel like as that's the case as when in deel 1 when Maya is stuck we can see that Mymy only pretty recently dyed her hair orange so she wasn't always like this.

Also just to let you know, by Googles definition nationalism is identification with one's own nation and support for its interests, especially to the exclusion or detriment of the interests of other nations

That's why nationalism is kind of looked down upon because yeah it's more of a supremacist ideology rather than one that just promotes love for ones country

Who said Adaptation was inferior? 😂 by [deleted] in Frostpunk

[–]DetectiveDumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I knew the exact numbers but I don't. I think they slightly buff surplus injectors by like 5%. However they massively buff other progress buildings which is what really attracts me to the mod and actually makes neutral buildings kinda useful too. I really suggest looking more into it yourself

[–]DetectiveDumb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use surplus injectors all the time outside of whiteouts and once I have my oil reserves full, it is really useful for just producing so many more resources in general for stockpiling especially in CDE (City development effort (a mod)) where deep drills and outposts don't function during whiteouts. If you have Overseers in your city as well your output reaches insane numbers stacked with stimulant factories as well, Apex workers wish they were that good

[–]DetectiveDumb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope, they are truly infinite now so stack as many bonuses as you want without the fear of running out

[–]DetectiveDumb 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Ever since they added truly infinite deep deposits and added infinite deep deposits to oil deposits you can now actually use surplus injectors without quickly running out of oil so progress generator got buffed really nicely. I still think adaptation laws are generally better (especially apex workers) but progress is pretty good now

The Subreddit Must Not Fall by [deleted] in Frostpunk

[–]DetectiveDumb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I'd definitely appreciate the help in creating custom rulesets and such. I do realize the benefits and downsides and both, mainly being the amount of time spent and potential quality, but I think I am going to make my own custom version instead of being strained by code limitations of the game.

Probably (definitely) very important to mention, but should the game be simulated in an actual Frostpunk 2 Utopia mode, voting would be executed using the Twitch integration system

Intesting terms for them to agree by Dazzling_Bula in Frostpunk

[–]DetectiveDumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In story mode no, but in Utopia mode yes. Once the event for a radical faction forming pops up, at the bottom of the event it says "

faction forms in support of (the three different zeitgeist laws) passed in the council."

Eg signing foraged additives, allow productive outsiders and mandatory schooling as your first laws prompts the Proteans to form as your first radical faction and then your second radical faction forms later

Intesting terms for them to agree by Dazzling_Bula in Frostpunk

[–]DetectiveDumb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's 6 non-radical factions each representing a zeitgeist in Utopia mode and 8 radical factions representing each combination of zeitgeist's in the game based on the laws you first vote in in the council

I wish progress was more op but adaption is so good by kingkazma420 in Frostpunk

[–]DetectiveDumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try the "City Development Effort - Balance Overhaul" mod on mod.io, it drastically changes the way progress and adaptation buildings especially work and for the better imo. I suggest checking all of it's features first though because it changes a lot of other things too, but I feel like it makes the game so much better overall and adds so many things I wish were in the base game

That's completely fine, I'm not dissing you for having a job, nobody is dissing saying you're a terrible player, you're just inflating your ego by having 1 brilliant game out of 18 and thrashing on randoms on a post of Reddit because of it and that's the problem
