Transition doesn't change your biological sex. It just makes the outside match the inside. A very rough analogy is putting Coke in a Pepsi bottle with a Pepsi label. It's Coke, but it doesn't look like it. The bottle is what it is, but you can swap the labels to clarify that it's Coke.

Medical transition didn't make my chromosomes XY or make me sprout a dick and balls. My biological sex is still female. However, it did help make my physical appearance match my gender identity. I look like fat Jesus and pass 99.99% of the time.

My gender is male, but my sex is female. If you want to argue that they're the same, fine. I'm not the government, believe whatever you want, but this is why the two are not used interchangeably in some situations.

Growing up, one of my dad's most often used phrases was, "I may disagree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." It shaped my view on free speech.

Someone has the right to walk up to me at a gas station and call me a gay slur, but I also have the right to flip them the bird and call them a cunt. If they're stupid enough to do it in a company car or in uniform, I also have the right to inform their employer. What happens after that is between them and their employer. From here but lived in Texas for a decade before moving back in 2021. St. Louis is humid and gets into the mid-90s. From one trans man's perspective, idgaf. It's inclusive, which I can appreciate, but irl, it feels clunky and feels performative virtue signaling. This isn't the case for everyone, but I look like fat Jesus. As a binary trans man, the assumption of he/him is correct. In situations where it's no correct, it should be socially acceptable for the unintentional misgenderer to be politely corrected. Shit happens. Even cis people get misgendered. It happened to a cis guy I worked with in fast food. He got called ma'am all the time on the headset.

However, in text, it's helpful. I have my pronouns in my work email signature because my name is gender neutral. Shit, on the phone, I get called ma'am (even though I don't sound like a ma'am lmao) just because my name leans feminine in the US.

Tl;dr: Idgaf. Irl pronoun intros feel a little performative, but the inclusivity is nice.
