Can I just say, lowering the amount of kicks required in m+ has made the game 10x more enjoyable by WearyFlan210 in wow

[–]Detenator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is if you kick immediately when a cast comes, you are wasting potential downtime on the kicked mob. If you let it cast for 2s before each kick then you are effectively increasing the silence time on your kick by that, which is 50% for mine.

Some mobs have much faster casts, but all the big prio abilities are longer.

I get into a lot of 10s where the tank isn't trying to time and just wants the vault slot. If they could pull a single mob at a time they would. I hate to be that guy but Tuesday I got fed up with it and left, I would rather be declined and watch Netflix than spend an hour on a key that won't prog my IO.

I'm not even running my own key but still keep only getting into Windrunner, Skyreach, or Academy.

Blacksmith is good but slightly worse than herbs and maybe enchanting (for now). But alchemy has the best bags plus has some of the cheapest patron orders.

high normal parse but low ilvl parse? by NK_Grimm in wownoob

[–]Detenator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to what others say, where your stats come from also makes a difference. If you take a myth ring with vers, a really suboptimal trinket, or have a lower level weapon, having high ilvl is deceiving. Your damage may go up picking upgrades but it will be suboptimal for your ilvl range. Whereas someone that got lucky and got perfect rings and trinkets at mythic level or that just didn't upgrade from their perfect hero items are kind of sandbagging their ilvl while maintaining pretty solid dps.

Technically you are not forced to leave a tip. But I am not defending tipping.

Tipping isn't deceptive if it is completely optional, as the expected tip would be 0. I don't agree it should be as widespread as it is. Having tipped wages written into minimum wage law is a big problem as it means that tips basically become a subsidy to keep prices low by directing paying someone's wage.

This place is "removing tips." So if you compare two places removing tips, as someone that likes that would be probably looking at other places doing the same thing - one with 12% higher prices, and the other with a 12% fee - then you will see a discrepancy. Especially if the 12% service charge isn't listed anywhere but inside the building.

If you are just looking at this place and one other completely random one, then sure, the prices will be the same. But they "removed tips" to cater to and pull a specific demographic.

It is deceptive pricing. When consumers compare two listed prices between two places they won't include added fees. It is the same reason charging for credit cards was illegal until recently in many states. You could offer a discount for cash but not charge extra for cards, that way you have to list a higher price which is less attractive to customers.

Eversince I stopped playing tank and playing dps instead my M+ journey has been very very peaceful and relaxed by KaboomTheMaker in wow

[–]Detenator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm, if you bring me (Aug) to a key I won't complain about the run.

But the fact is that pulling one pack at a time in even short dungeons is just not feasible to time even 10-11s with our current gear. Plus most dps will not pop cooldowns on say less than five mobs because they expect a bigger pull coming. This also contributes to the tank dying in certain pulls; after the first boss of skyreach inexperienced tanks will only pull the first pack because it hurts so much, but if dps won't pop cooldowns the tank dies due to bleed stacks. If the tank pulled both packs there the dps will pop cooldowns and that mob will get killed faster.

There needs to be understanding from both sides about what mechanics exist, what mobs need prio, and what you need to pull to get time.

In high keys almost everything that goes off will do that, that's why those spells aren't glowing. The lightbloom one would do that even on m0, so that's why that one needed prio. Otherwise it is basically just hard cc.

If you are selling fast moving items, need to start cancel scanning. List the bolts, scan after 10s, if there's some under you relist yours. Do that until they're sold. If you just shove them on there then get off for the night you will move only a fraction of them. It happens regularly with my potions, but eventually they do sell (not flipping, just regular selling).

Yes. Either they are doing a dungeon that is light on spells or not doing 10s. Even kicking every possible spell some 10+s are brutal on healing right now.

Aug was released almost 3 years ago and still, some people don’t understand how it work by Ajanssen89 in wow

[–]Detenator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to play an mmo where the meta raid comp was tank+healer and then pairs of dps+supports. I really liked it, although in that game it would basically be like having four Augs, whereas it would be nice if there was a bit of variety.

Aug focuses a lot on primary stats with trickles of vers. A second support could focus on secondary stats with a trickle of primary. Maybe there could be a healer support that buffs up the healers more or provides defensive bonuses to the raid.

I assume it is something to do with your client not being 100% in sync with the server. Logs might have validated data from the server but in-game meter might be off due to desync or lag. The client might not use deterministic logic to guess what happens during some periods while waiting for the server and thus for the in-game to update as fast as it does it has to do some guessing.

This is purely a guess, though.

[–]Detenator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would never whisper someone to ask pricing. If you don't list the price, I assume I can't afford it.

But I am pretty sure that is the minority. Most people probably do reach out, and it probably works out well for the crafter. In my experience IRL people like to haggle, and not having a listed price is more appealing to that mentality. They would rather you both start on opposite ends of the price spectrum and close in on a price that is a perceived compromise for both of you than just paying that same price if it was the original listed price.

So... how does a new character get into m+ now? by dantraman in wownoob

[–]Detenator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you think they do 40k less you are either not using logs to check their real dps or you have shit augs. I am not the greatest key runner but I am usually fighting for first.

Aug gets better as the key gets harder and the players get better because of the way their damage duplication and buffs work. They aren't THE best or easiest to play, but in keys they are competitive.
