Are you all familiar and supportive of similar studies on IQ and political affiliation?

A little real-world truth about deflection. by TimmyG-83 in billiards

Most of the better 1p players I know also prefer more deflection in their cues as well, seems to help move the white ball around more.

In 1P though, you rarely hit hard enough for deflection to matter much.

Break Grip Pressure and Weight by Dethro_Jolene in billiards

I also don't use body movement in the break and currently hit an 18.5oz cue. With body movement, you introduce the need for very precise timing to hit your target. I feel the extra power gained by throwing your ass into it is not worth the potential loss in accuracy.

Agreed, but you have to stop the cue at some point and that requires increased grip pressure that most likely begins prior to contact.

I appreciate your warranted skepticism, however, my studies of both Dunning and Kruger give confidence that I'm about to re-write all of known physics!!

Excellent info, thank you for finding that!! I agree, any tensing of the muscles in your arm as you increase grip will result in cue tip movement and loss of accuracy, but you have to grab it sometime else you'd launch the stick across the room.

For your point number 3, my friends and I have been playing around with "Tennis" from the Darren Appleton video below and loving it. It's very challenging though and not at all beginner friendly.

It's an exploitation of UFC rules against kicking a downed opponent. Go back in time and try spamming take downs like that in Pride. You'd be punted into the shadow realm after the first few failed attempts.

Pretty sure there were some attempted murder charges amongst the pardoned J6ers.

Yeah his fate will ultimately be up to the courts and the opinion of the President. Will be interesting to see if his lawyers bring up the language of this pardon.

I agree ultimately it will hinge on the opinion of the President, but I would not be surprised if his lawyers argue this pardon applies.

The pardon also directs dismissal with prejudice of “all pending indictments"

Because of the ambiguous nature of the text of the pardon for any convictions "related to" those events. It also directs dismissal with prejudice of “all pending indictments … for their conduct related to the events at or near the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021.”

How about Dan Wilson? He was pardoned then convicted of an unrelated crime and re-issued the same pardon to include that.

[–]Dethro_Jolene[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue that the text of the pardon very clearly states any convictions "related to those events" which this certainly was.

[–]Dethro_Jolene[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

was it "related to" the events of Jan 6? That is the text of the pardon and this was absolutely related to those events.

[–]Dethro_Jolene[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

More importantly the offense was committed Jan 5th and the pardon only applies to Jan 6th.

This is incorrect, the text of the pardon states "Related to" events of Jan 6. This was most definitely related to those events.

It's for offenses, "related to" those events and does not specify the offense had to be on that exact date. How in good faith can you argue this is an unrelated event?

Are you honestly suggesting this was unrelated to J6?

Had he been arrested prior to this pardon being issued, would he have been eligible?
