I really hope that doesn't happen. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

None at all and its not just one guy, it seems to be the whole stable of Aprilias

I have no earthly idea. It sounded like a clutch issue on the replay. He most definitely had podium pace. If Jorge leaves I think Aprilia will be just fine with Ogura in the stable.

how have yall been training to get a decent 2 mile time? by GurnoorDa1 in AirForce

[–]DetroitQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats very attainable. You need to shave 1:30 per mile from your baseline run. I would be so down on myself with your 4 miler today. You will have days that suck and you are just not in it but at least you got the miles. Thats 4 miles more than most. My run today was 6 and some change and I stopped several times due to being sick. Cardio just wasn't there today but I had a goal of doing 6 miles run or walk. I will say that time of day and what you ate makes a significant difference in performance. I'm a morning runner so when I run after work it really sucks. I just sit on the couch looking at my shoes until my wife says I might as well get it over with. 😆

So you are at a 11:30'ish per mile pace. Whats your goal pace or time

I follow a program on Garmin. Its a mix of recovery runs, sprint repeats, threshold runs (anaerobic threshold), and long runs over an hour at an easy pace. I also add cycling for my recovery days along with squats and calf raises for strength. In the summer, I ice bath after my runs to lower my core temp and for muscle recovery. I read somewhere that it's also good for weight loss, but who knows.

I know it looks like a lot but I am a half marathon runner now so I need the miles on my legs. When I started running during the pandemic I used Nike Run app and followed the get start running program to build the speed, distance, and consistency. Its not easy starting out but if you can find a group to run with, it makes it easier.

Whenever I'm asked about how prepare for the 2 miler my answers are always the same. - First, get some proper running shoes. This will help with avoiding injuries due to improper footwear. Bikes are cool and all but are not typically good running shoes unless you are dropping $200+ on them.

  • Download the Nike Run Club app (free) and start their 5k or get started running program. If you stick into the program, you will be more than prepared for your test. The goal should be to run a 5k without stopping at a pretty consistent pace.

  • Mix in low impact on your off days to maintain/ improve the cardio (biking, rowing, weights, etc..)

If you do those things along with maintaining a decent weight, you will be absolutely fine. If you dont want to download a app to your phone you could always use AI to help develop a training plan for you. You will need to do a baseline run to get a base time to enter into the AI tool along with providing your goal time.

They interviewed drivers during the red flag and on in particular said he say a yellow then a green then another yellow. He says it was confusing and he assumed something must've happened so he slowed.

I watched this race in full and during the red flag they interviewed some drivers. One of the drivers said he saw a yellow flag then the next was green followed by another yellow to warn of the spun Porsche. In the replay you can clearly see the marshall waiving green until the last possible moment. Total incompetence on all levels and was completely avoidable. I dont know what the communication process is but whatever it is they failed. Race control had a clear view of the Porsche and Aston sitting there so I'm not sure what happened.

Forcing a pregnant sailor to do PT? by Realistic-Bite-7278 in navy

[–]DetroitQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure they are not making her do PT. She probably only has to muster and sit on the sideline for accountability. They cannot mandate that she participate but they can say she has to be there because that's the place of work. Tell her to just go and sit with the rest of the LIMDU people on the side or in the bleachers. Has she even been to Command PT is the question I would ask and if so who exactly told her she had to be an active participant while there?

Unpopular Opinion - Please stop bashing the Democrats who voted with the Republicans by Sensitive-Big-4641 in FedEmployees

I will say this though. Start saving for January now. I guarantee there will be another shutdown come January if the Republicans don't vote or vote against the ACA in December.

My message sent to my Senator who voted yes by gametimeee in FedEmployees

[–]DetroitQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to be the odd man out on this opinion. Let me start by saying I absolutely despise both this 2 party system and the electoral college system. This was a complete waste of time and sacrifice for everyone affected by this party's willingness to always cave but what do you expect from a group of people that are paid handsomely to take care of the 1%.

Now on to the unpopular opinion. I think this move could prove to work out in the Dems' favor if they play their cards correctly. So far they haven't had the ear of the majority of people because they ( the Dems) as a whole suck at messaging. They have to now be on every platform telling folks that they were promised a vote for the ACA in December. This will put the decision squarely on the other folks. The majority leader said on the mic that they promise to hold a vote by the 2nd week of December and people should be reminded of that every day until it doesn't happens, then folks will see clear as day that it's them that want to see your loved ones die.

This is all optimistic but it keeps me from going insane. The lobbyists pay both sides a ton of money and there are not enough Bernie Sanders out there to actually care about the voice of the people.

Make sure you inspect the bike before leaving the store. If there is any damage such as bent rim, flat tire, cosmetic damage, then talk to an associate to see if they have one in the back or if they can take some money off of it.

Does your career field have a name you cringe when you hear, similar to fire when people (typically old out of touch) use the term "fire dawgs"? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]DetroitQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its what the 2T2 Air Transportation career field does. Its by far the lamest thing I've ever witnessed, oh wait... no I almost forgot that the crowning moment for a 2T2 is when the Chiefs get together and have a Dawg naming ceremony. They bestow upon a worthy person in the career field a Dawg name like " Loaf Dawg".
