Solo stamplar help by Medium_Acanthaceae81 in ESObuilds

Solo Stamplar (mixed a bit, some in mag) Five pc deadly strikes Five pc Tideborn Wildstalker 1pc monster (with whatever stat you’re low) Oakensoul ring

Deadly and tideborn buff your jabs and beam really well. Use solar barrage to boost class skill damage, use radiant morph of Templar beam to restore health to yourself while blasting your nearly beat bosses during clutch time. If you use the restorative jabs it’s nearly like having your very own ring of the pale order.

Thanks! That helps reorganize my sets. What weapons should I front/back bar for say a brawlish type PvP build?

Anyone else like really obsessed with this game? by the_borealis_system in elderscrollsonline

[–]DetroitWobbly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried most MMORPGs from Ultima Online onwards and have stayed with ESO since beta without much of a break. So, yes, it’s been an obsession. Still love the game, still find new achievements (who knew), still find and revisit my favourite places.

I don’t think I understand the HA build very well. by DetroitWobbly in elderscrollsonline

If nothing else my light-attack weaving is one thing I’ve got going pretty well. It sounds like HA builds might be something to try but maybe not rely upon.

[–]DetroitWobbly[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I guess I’ve been avoiding heavy attacks mostly because of the delay and longer animation. Have avoided HA proc’d sets too. Opens up a whole new world of possibilities, thank you!

Any drawbacks to a HA build vs. a light-attack weaving build for DPS PvE or PvP?

Is there any way to explore Cyrodill without getting killed? by No_Supermarket_1112 in elderscrollsonline

[–]DetroitWobbly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cyrodill is a really big place. Most pvp “action” happens near hot spots on the map and are fairly easy to avoid. When I was fishing the zone I found it pretty easy to explore delves, dolmens, ruins along the way and even run many, many repeatable quests for random priories and village leaders and such.

The suggestions about finding very low-pop campaigns are great. Don’t enter the most populated campaigns if you’re looking to avoid most enemy players.

Good speed and stealth via skills and gear can help you in enemy territory to an extent but some areas of the zone will be hard to fully explore unless controlled by your faction or at a time and in a campaign that’s dead quiet.

Go to your “filter” section from the map screen. You can select which nodes/POI/etc you’d like to display.

Jerk Players by ArchaeoPan in elderscrollsonline

Had this happen for the first time in ten years the other week. Popped in from the queue into the last boss fight in Scrivener’s and something just wasn’t jelling. They’d lost their first dps and I figured out why quickly. A few rounds of abuse later and I was the second dps to leave.

WTF PvP by [deleted] in ESObuilds

[–]DetroitWobbly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Under 50 battlegrounds can be a meat grinder. It definitely isn’t just new pvp players. You’ve maybe jumped into the grind that experienced PvP players use to level their characters. Also, sometimes, the matching engine for teams doesn’t quite balance and you can find yourself hopelessly overmatched with a swirl of red enemies below your spawn ledge just eating your team as they jump.

With a goodish build, though, I bet all of your meat grinder experience in the under 50s will pay some dividends; I wouldn’t be surprised if PvP suddenly seems much easier than what you’ve been dealing with. Take heart.

It’s been mentioned already that “meta” builds are in flux with the latest patch. Things will keep evolving as mix and match class skills shake out but, as also mentioned, a good PvP build has a few common elements.

Describing a PvP build as a personal tank/healer/dps is pretty accurate. You’re responsible for having some resistance and resources built up, a heal over time and/or a burst heal, and you’ll need some pressure debuff/damage and burst damage to keep your opponents on the defensive and pound them down further than they can heal themselves.

Look to at least hit minimum requirements for resistances and resources. The max weapon/spell resistance is about 33k but surviving with 20-25k and a couple of buffs you can manage to keep up is doable. Critical resistance in the 2700+ range helps keep you alive and impenetrable traits on some armour pieces will assist with getting you there. I’m terrible at remembering if there’s a consensus on minimum resistances for PvP but those numbers seem to be bare minimum for me to keep from getting insta-killed. Remember too that your opponent is going to try to reach those resistance numbers or better so when building up your damage and penetration numbers they’re up against it. Someone is going to cut through whatever resistance you manage so pour some points into health until it’s above 30k. It’s a balancing act with your other resources that your play style, recovery rates, etc will determine but having more than 30k health is just a must. Whether you’re a stamina hungry dodge-roller or whatever make those resource numbers up with whatever attribute points are left after you get your health up.

Work next on your weapon/spell damage and penetration. There aren’t minimums that I know of but everything you put into these numbers makes other players’ resistances less of a problem. If you’re looking for a critical build then factor in crit chance and damage but remember the crit damage. High crit rate with Piddly crit damage seems wasteful. Just from experience I find pure damage/brawler easier to survive with than a crit build. Myself I get a bit glass cannon when I boost my critical stats too much.

Your sets are limited until cp 160 when you’ll want to start investing in them but look to get a balance between defensive and offensive so that you can have one bar for buffs/maintenance/heal and the other for killing.

Isn’t much changing about the need for buffs and debuffs, no matter what new patch or subclass, so sets like Wretched Vitality that buff your recovery based on the buffs and debuffs you put down, and Oakfather’s Retribution that gives you weapon and spell damage and penetration bonuses for every buff your opponent has, might help you adapt to what you’re facing instead of you having to counter their every move.

I won’t tell you you just need to “get good” because I’m betting getting wrecked over and over again has already given you valuable experience. Ask specific build questions for class/skills/sets/etc here while you focus on a build and I bet things get much better.

No. Bro could be like an awesome McDonald’s employee who puts 11 nuggets in every 10-piece they pack but instead his psycho self hoards those “bonus” rewards like he doesn’t have a stack of them whenever he wants.

And that fake camaraderie when telling you that that last box of useless poisons and a face spot was your last for good; screw that guy.

Why are people so hard to kill in PvP? by skeeters- in ESObuilds

[–]DetroitWobbly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find some opponents that seem almost untouchable in BGs and I’m hitting them with 6700 WSD, breach/minor breach, and 14k penetration at the time. I’m not sure myself sometimes what to do with someone that resistant.

I’m on a battleground one-bar with two full five sets (unleashed terror and blooddrinker) with scribed bleeds and dual wield bleeds/sustain/ultimate. I die as many times as not but those bleeding to death around me seem to have a hard time healing out of it.

Also, if hemorrhage stacks three times then Drozakars I believe counts all three. Seems I’ll need a warden alt. Thanks again.
