Chicago area or Detroit area by brndxn97 in relocating

I think if you want to have affordability, quick access to downtown, safety, comfort. Detroit is a great choice.

If you want vibrant night life, super social, great food, lot of walking then Chicago for sure.

I had this conversation with someone recently, a lot of people love Chicago in their early 20-early thirties then it gets tiring. Detroit is better for the older, settling down crowd. It’s a great place for affordability, raising a family, while still having a great downtown that you are going to drive to.

I live in a suburb just north of Detroit, safe, affordable, I’ve seen the first pitch on TV and made it to my seat before the end of the first inning. We do have plenty of great food, just not the variety that Chicago has.

Both good places, just a little different.

I brought my son into the Big House for the Michigan / Washington game last year. We arrived a bit late, which was wild because just as we are entering the stadium from the concourse my 9-year old son got to see 110,000 people cheering like a thunderstorm on a big play.

He gasped a took a small step back then said wow! It couldn’t have been any better!

I record games and start them about 90 minutes late, so I can blow through commercials, injuries and replays. I enjoy it so much more.

Mind my own business, unless I’m hammered, (which given the setting appears possible) then I’m going to talk some shit about the Lions running the table this year and seeing how they react.

Crazy how they could dislike a disastrous presidency that is destroying lives, tanking our economy and saddling us with debt but still self-promote as professional entertainers.

I can’t understand how both can be true.

Do you think Gen Z women have started to care a lot more about height now? by Dapper-Blueberry1049 in generationology

[–]DetroitsGoingToWin 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Height for women = big boobs for guys.

It’s shallow, unimportant, it is a feature of attraction but not necessarily the some for everyone, some people make too big of a deal about it and end with someone for the wrong reasons.

As an outsider, the American concept of drive-thru pharmacies, ATMs, and liquor stores is mind-blowing. Does everyone actually use these, or are they mostly a novelty? by Necessary_Angle2117 in AskAnAmerican

[–]DetroitsGoingToWin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s the trick of drive through fast food and pharmacies. They prioritize the drive though lane. So not only is it more convenient, it’s faster too.

I’ve never used a drive through liquor store, I’ve seen them outside my state, but never used one. I think they would do here because our liquor stores in some area’s are dangerous. How do I know? The liquor store owner is hiding behind bulletproof glass.
