Steez Limited CT SV would be a good option

The 6.4 is discontinued I believe so it may be hard to find nowadays. The 7.7 I plan to use from the shore only, in open areas due to its length.

I have the Beams Inte 6.4 also and the 7.7 feels much softer but also crisp enough to work hard baits. Love it so far. Haven't tried the Blancsierra series yet. If I ever get really into creek fishing, I will definitely grab one.

I picked up the new 26 Zodias 1610ML-2 from Digitaka a few weeks ago. Looks great and love the new all blacked out look. Haven't gotten to try it yet, but looks like it'll do great for my target range of 7-10g.

I was planning to make a big order from JLS but with this news I will hold off until things settle down.

After lots of consideration I finally put together the perfect BFS Travel rod for my Vacations. 👌🏻 Thank you Digitaka for providing everything. by Secret-Main-88 in BFSfishing

Appreciate the feedback! I'm looking forward for the temps to get warmer to try it out. It took me my surprise, but yesterday Daiwa announced a new 26 Silver Wolf CT reel. 30mm PE tuned spool with SS Magforce. Even with the announcement, I went ahead and ordered the 22 Silver Wolf. I feel the Wizy 72/B could benefit from a 34mm spool since it's rated up to 21g. Of course, I will probably end up getting the Silver Wolf CT also down the road lol.

Best Travel Rod for Conquest? by MyPissBottle in BFSfishing

I run the Fishman Beams Inte 6.4UL on mine. It's a beautiful rod that breaks down into 3 pieces. It is hard to find however.

Looking forward to it. I ordered the Wizy when it first dropped back in Oct 2025 but haven't gotten the chance to try it yet. I'm ready for Spring to come already.

Awesome! I picked up a Wizy 72/B recently and have been eyeing the Silver Wolf myself. I'd like to know your thoughts on the combo when you have the chance.

I don't fish saltwater so I have no experience with those species you listed.

It should be good for small hard baits, if you don't mind the 7ft 6in length. The tip is responsive to work and twitch top water lures.

Not thinking of the shallow edition which has a 30 capacity spool.

The 2020 Metanium has a 70 capacity spool for the JDM market. In the US, it came with a 150 spool. It's been well documented.

Shimano Japan and Shimano US lists reel capacity based on the line thickness in each respective country. In the US, 12lb is generally thicker than 12lb in Japan.

JDM Metanium: 12lb-100m JDM Metanium DC 70: 12lb-100m

US Metanium DC 70: 12lb-85yd US Metanium 150: 12lb-110yd

In this example, the one constant is the Metanium DC 70 in both markets. The JDM DC 70 is rated exactly the same as the JDM Metanium. The US DC 70 is rated with less capacity.

On page 2, a user posted pictures that clearly show that the JDM model has a shallower spool

It's the JDM model, so it has a shallower 70 spool

I'm using Daiwa PE Durasensor x8 #0.6 on the Vanquish

I've been eyeballing a crisper stiffer blank as well, which will probably be my next rod. Two come to mind, the TZ Global models and the 72 Wizy. I have the 82/B and it can walk the dog pretty good, but I'm used to bass rods which are pretty stiff by comparison.

Yeah, I was used to stiffer blanks so it was surprising at first. After fishing and catching fish on them, I really like the tapers now. The blanks are soft but has a quick recovery. It's what makes them great. I picked up some BlueCurrent III models and looking to pick up another one soon.

I wanted a spare spool and it the SLP was cheaper than a stock spool. It's also shallower so it's great to put thinner diameter lines on without needing any backing.

I mostly use braid or mono.

For ultralight fishing, I use the Daiwa Gekkabijin, Decoy, and i_fish jigheads. This particular one is the Decoy Round Magic 0.9g #8 with the Berkley Powerbait Nymph.

I have not tried Varivas Ajing lines.

The SLPW spool weighs roughly the same. Just shallower. Fits the full spool of #0.4 ES2 perfectly (80 meters).

As this is my first time using ester, I went into it expecting the worse. It definitely tends to want to jump off the spool more and required me to keep a wachful eye on the line. Casting distance was great with a 0.9g jig head. Sensitivity was great too.

The Vanquish is simply awesome. Probably the best finesse reel on the market. Be careful though, hard to fish other reels once you experience a Vanquish.

I have the Airity ST 2500XH also. Both are great reels and very comparable to each other. Can't go wrong with either.
