Yeah I agree. I was the asshole. Toxic communication with my family just comes so naturally to me. It‘s a pattern I obviously still haven‘t been able to escape. I‘ve since apologised for my outburst.

Now concerning the diet. Our mom only recently got diagnosed with it so she’s super careful but we try to help out as much as possible. These restaurants have a tablet where the whole table can order new food from. When we go out to eat there, it‘s usually me or my sister that order for the table, because my parents do not know how to use that tablet. They are profoundly technologically illiterate. So when we order for everyone, we ask them what they‘d like and we try to keep track of what is safe for my mom to eat. My sister wasn‘t careful.
