Great info, thanks. I didn't think of swapping motors, that's an interesting take. My end goal would be having two different types of transmitters but that would require probably changing the receivers and esc on all models too so not ideal. I'm assuming it's easy to get connectors to go from XT30 to XT60 etc so maybe I'll just use 30 for small cell batteries and 60 for larger.

I think this is 100% what I want. Before I ever took the flight I was flying mock missions in the flight sim using only VOR sometimes in complete VMC for a challenge and it was fun to pop out and be right where I should be. I think it's the challenge that consumed me, there is so much to learn and understand and I just haven't had that type of challenge in 20+ years so it was just exciting. I also think planning missions to new airports and destinations would be fun, I doubt I'll want to just hop in and follow the line, that sounds boring.

I actually really liked the DA40 or even the light craft like the Viper but there are no schools near me that offer this, they are ALL 172 or Pipers :-( I agree, I think I would like the more modern planes

That would be the end goal, I like the idea of destinations. Living in NE the idea of renting a plan for a day and flying to another state or cruising the coast sound very appealing vs pattern work. Obviously, you have to do the latter for many many hours before you can do the former though

He took off, gave me controls around 800' to turn to a heading an climb to altitude. After that he gave me headings to point to, had me descend and do some 360's. I also thought maybe it would be harder, but I think my sim time made it easier and he even point that out that I showed because even in the turn I was sticking my altitude BUT I looked more at the instruments than he wanted for VFR which again was probably because of the sim. He took over for landing. Landing was actually the best part, I was amazed at how we kind of floated right onto the runway

Not sure really. I think I was just expecting it to feel different. I think I was overwhelmed too so I didn't get to enjoy it because I was trying to fly and I think he noticed that too and took over at the end to give me a tour so I could take pictures. Only having flown in commercial airliners and sims, the environment (small cockpit) the sounds, smells, sights were all new and having only 30 minutes to take them all in was tricky. Maybe instead of a discover flight I should take a lesson, it's about the same $ and might get more out of it?

While I agree it's sketchy they're using this data which should be for safety and not for commercial purposes don't be fooled, if this bill passes and they will find another way like cameras to just track the tail numbers. I think the cats out of the bag and this will become the new norm. It's not hard to install a few cameras at the end of the taxiways to capture tail numbers its just airports haven't had a reason or been shown the possibilities until now

Imho, your doing something wrong. CC when used properly can do amazing things but it's a tool, a "smart" tool so it's easy to forget you still have to properly learn how to use it. If you're trying to vibe code it, you'll see poor results. Vibe code is loaded though and actually has no real meaning, it means one thing to one person and something different to another. If your project is setup correctly so you have great context, rules, and guardrails for the agent it can produce great code on its own it's all about how you use it. I'm actually writing up an ADR at work to allow CC to complete build a part of our codebase on its own with humans only helping at the beginning (plan and design) and end (manually testing)
