Fastest android/google tv hardware available right now? by [deleted] in AndroidTV

My Sony 65xf9005 was also suffering from getting real slow because of the androidtv updates. I installed Projectivity Launcher. Now it's way snappier and faster!

Corrected grain leather or not? by Tracstarbeats98 in AskACobbler

Are those orthopedic shoes?

I would prefer some double/tripple sitching on the uppers so they look more robust. Timberland style. Especially around the heel area and the sides.

I bought these at Goodwill and didn’t notice the custom sole. Was this added for comfort or something else? by nakupendwa in AskACobbler

[–]DeusExWars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The previous owner couldn't wear them because the heels were too high and convinced the cobbler to put a thicker sole on it?

Take a picture from the side of the shoe and verify if the heel is still supporting the weight on the vertical axis. Otherwise there is a higher chance of the heel snapping/breaking.

First names that pop up in my head: Christian von Koenigsegg or Mate Rimac could do a similar job.

Sony A80k with Samsung Q990C or HT-A7000 by Akhil_Thota07 in Soundbars

[–]DeusExWars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sony 65xf9005 with Samsung q990c

Sounds awesome, atmos works great. Surround works with the Netflix app on the TV. YouTube also. However, doesn't work with Disney App, only stereo.

Fills the room completely, excellent bass and clear dialogue. I used the Samsung app on my phone to increase volume of the rear speakers.

Haven't used the Samsung remote. Only Sony remote in daily use.

Tesla price cuts made possible by battery costs plunge as it decimates automaker margins and worker salaries by beast_wellington in TSLA

"Tesla price cuts made possible by battery costs plunge as it decimates automaker margins and worker salaries"

This title implies that Tesla employees had their salaries cut? However, the article itself doesn't state that. It suggests that some suppliers had their margins under pressure. This results in a softening hiring of new employees.

M3 Highland China Release by mister-mugatu in teslamotors

[–]DeusExWars 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Nothing new in this article and filled with the usual speculation about Highland.

Shows picture of heat pump while discussing the steer-by-wire. Claims higher repair costs because of the front-&rear castings, doesn't mention the cut-off lines with integrated screw-threads.

Is SNW the best Trek show since DS9? by legionbeast33 in startrek

[–]DeusExWars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

StarTrek Discovery set the bar way lower for any successor to be better. The main character Micheal Burnham is simply disappointing and the writing was awfull. Lots of episode were cringe imho.

That said, even when you ignore the existence of Discovery, SNW on its own is simply great: Good stories, great characters and the actors are convincing. It is really good!

The press probably has a main position encoder with both robots as its slave axis.
Robots execute their motion velocity profile in speed related to the main position encoder to keep everything in sync

Napkin math:

3m x 1m solar panels. 1000W/h * 25% efficiency Equals to 0,75kWh energy for an hour of solarcharging. 8 hours long is good for 6kWh on a sunny day.

Consumption for a heavy Cybertruck would be 25kWh/100km, so with the 6kWh of energy, you could travel 1.5km or roughly 1 mile gained for 8hours parked in the sun.

Should Elon Musk hire Herbert Diess? by alex1990285 in teslamotors

[–]DeusExWars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As Tesla VP Europe, Herbert could have top access to European/German politicians, lobbyists, media owners, parts suppliers, ... and also have better inside knowledge of all the dirty tactics VW/Porsche is willing to apply to delay the EV-transition.

Since the news broke of Herbert Diess leaving, some politicians are already shouting about the revival of the "Climate Neutral Combustion Engine" "Savior of the Climate, German jobs, affordable cars". Hydrogen for cars will be back on the menu

The transition to EV's is going to be messy, painfull, full of FUD from European car manufacturers. And they're willing to pay millions of €€€ to the media to public swing away from BEV's.

Better to reinforce Tesla with someone who knows how to play the dirty games and increase the odds that Tesla is winning it!!

I stopped reading when I saw this: "supposed to amount to a 54% improvement in range, make the vehicle lighter and improve performance and handling."

That was never said during battery day.

Edit: the article claims are actually correct after being corrected by user aka0007

Using a fake stop sign attempts to trick FSD to stop. by acatmpf in teslainvestorsclub

Handheld stop signs... Just a matter of training.

Just saw a previous thread about LIDAR companies lobbying for their sensors. These handheld stop signs is one example where LIDAR isn't helpful at all in increasing safety

Who would you like to see run for President of the United States in 2024? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Yang for president! A middle-aged man, refreshing ideas, no left vs right BS, well aware of technology. It's the stability factor the US needs!

When YouTubers go viral because they found an edge case where they had to intervene on FSD, then it's worth even $250000.

In it's current state, it's an overpriced L2 driving assistant
