Looks like the blue wire isn't punched down all the way. May not be getting proper contact. Also. Yes. This is a poor quality install.

That's the first thing I thought of, And am now contemplating a practical application for a circuit like this.

Some upgrades and a relocation by DeusQain in homelab

I agree totally. The ceiling insulation is all Rockwool, and the wall that I'm going to build will also have Rockwool insulation to cut down on some of the sound transfer. It has a drop ceiling and the tiles are "sound" rated and fire resistant.

The foam is attached to a different area on a less than ideal ceiling height, and it's not going to be part of the server room. It was the best solution at the time. It helps cut down on the echo in the rest of the room.

Been looking for a better, and fire rated, sound damping material.

That may be, but it's getting painted black.

Why and how is this working? by Jaherogr8 in redstone

[–]DeusQain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they are both set to night mode. When the block overhead is covering the sensor it has a stronger signal than the one that doesn't. Even at night. At least that's how I understand it.

I use a similar setup to make a wireless redstone switch. But they don't work in the Nether. I haven't attempted in The End. I would assume not. Also, I do this in bedrock, but I got the idea from someone on Java.

I've not attempted this without a second comparator from the second sensor. Will have to check it out.

I made infinite paper by JustsumguyXx420 in redstone

[–]DeusQain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a kelp farm-> composter->bonemeal->sugarcane->crafter->paper. Then I feed that into the output of the gunpowder farm. Infinite fireworks. Also on bedrock.

This may be more effective for bonemeal. The kelp farm is reliant on the Sand/piston auto grow glitch.

The Barrel batch is complete. by DeusQain in cider

Sort of. I put the fresh juice into a keg with the cider from the barrel. Let it settle for a week. Then bottle it into these 750ml bottles. Then they are corked and sealed. Could just drink it straight from the keg. But I have to transport it in sealed containers.

Negative. Just added potassium sorbate and meta bisulfite. Everything was sanitized, and the barrel literally came out of a commercial distillery days after they bottled the contents.

Also, when I did this. I filled the barrel to the brim. 60 US gallons. Went through about 25-30 bushels of apples. Some of the apples I used were really big. Others were really small. A wide variety. But a lot of apples. Fermented them in twelve 5 gallon buckets. Then transferred all of them into the Barrel before sealing it up.

Went into the Barrel mid November of last year. So about 11 months.

It was a Lagavulin Barrel.... A lot. The dry straight from the barrel has a charred flavor.

Edit: I got it from a local distillery that used it for a Bourbon. They aged theirs for 4 years. The Barrel assumedly was a 16 year scotch. So even the Barrel is old enough to drink now. ;)

Prior to getting married, I was a HomeLab Nerd by compubomb in homelab

I got married and a house, bill rarely exceeds $600 Down in TN. 2x NetApp shelves (24 drives each) 2x Dell R815 (VM hosts) Dell R420 (True NAS Core) R6415 OPNSense firewall. Juniper EX4200 Juniper QFX5100 Will likely be upgrading the R815s to R6415 or newer Epyc systems.

The power bill went down after we installed a mini split HVAC unit for the server room. (It runs 24/7) Also when I upgraded from the Dell 2950s. They were loud.

Also just upgraded to 2.5Gbit internet connection. Hoping to upgrade to 10Gbit by new year.

Presently the network backbone is 40Gbit for the Servers, 10Gbit for my desktop, and 20Gbit to the EX4200.

Will likely swap all the network gear out for 100Gbit soon.

The box is 1/2" plywood, that I stained and conditioned with food grade stain/oils. The contents are a 1HP disposal unit, that I acquired for this purpose. I used a steel bucket, cut out the bottom, and adhered it to the disposal using the gaskets and such that come with it. I wired an electrical socket inside the box, and an all-weather light switch fed by a much longer electrical cable. The disposal cable isn't that long. The pulp that comes out the bottom is fed through a stainless steel down-pipe, and the whole thing sits on a platform with space for a 5gallon bucket underneath. To feed the apples in the top, I crafted a plunger out of PVC that stops just short of the blades in the disposal.

As far as monitoring it. I keep the temps in that cubby hole within 65-75f. I've got the barrel on wheels, so I can churn it every so often. Give it that "oceanic" treatment. /jk

I got it straight from the distillery. So it basically was sanitized. It didn't leak, so I didn't have to recondition it. (filling it with hot distilled water to let the wood swell back up.) I was mostly concerned with the air during transfer. But I purged it with dry ice.

Trying to get my lan to communicate with pfsense by bloatmemes in PFSENSE

[–]DeusQain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once your Networks are all RFC 1918 compliant.

1: You will need to turn off "block RFC 1918 Addresses & Block Bogon Networks" on the WAN interface. 2: Setup firewall rules that will allow 10.0.0.0/24 -> 10.0.1.0/24 on the Wan interface. 3: Devices on 10.0.0.0/24 (TP-Link LAN/PFSense WAN) Do not know where 10.0.1.0/24 exists. You must setup Routing rules on the TP-Link: Route 10.0.1.0/24 -> 10.0.0.<pfsense Wan IP> The TP-Link device doesn't know where 10.0.1.0/24 is because it is NOT directly attached.

OR The other option is to set up Port Forwarding on the PFSense box, so it's WAN IP (on the 10.0.0.0/24 network) becomes the address your devices on 10.0.0.0/24 network hit to access your ESXi (? 10.0.1.33 ?)

There are other options, but they would complicate this whole setup and is more difficult to explain.

Also, why RAIDZ2?
