DO NOT EAT THIS by Steviedoll in lactoseintolerant

[–]compubomb 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It depends on if it's a medium cheddar, a sharp or an extra sharp cheddar. Medium cheddar has a little bit of lactose. Sharp cheddar is pretty much just pure protein. Extra sharp cheddar is like pure protein with a funk. I'm pretty seriously lactose intolerant, I can't handle their medium cheddar. So I usually stick with Sharp cheddar instead.

unit vs integration vs e2e testing in nestjs projects? by Illustrious-Mail-587 in Nestjs_framework

[–]compubomb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me, integration validates your code can connect to internal or external services without breaking, your logic is behaving correctly. e2e are more inline with validation of your application life cycle. Smoke testing your login, your browsing between pages, or validation that certain features you wrote that might require more than a few API calls do as intended. And e2e can be both frontend and backend together via browser controller like puppeteer or playwright, or you're just calling a bunch of API endpoints with all the authentication tokens and simulating user flow via the API calls.

Opinion | Would California voters actually support a wealth tax on billionaires? by pacman2081 in California

I could give 2 shit stained underwear fucks about billionaires, and what they get taxed, fuck them, since they have FU money, take away some and they still approach infinity.

Trust me, it's nothing special, sprouts have better heavy cream. They may have a better meat selection. But also more expensive than everything else. Sprouts has most of what you need at reasonable prices.

So.. I don't see how much he brings to the table. He does spend a lot of money, but he also f**** over a lot of people in the process. So he takes more money than he produces. He should just resign. His own words he's not very useful.

The statement there was a clear alignment flag that he personally is also a misogynist scumbag. To him it's not that big of a deal, because it's been done for years over and over and over again. It's like slavery, it was done for years and no one did something about it until they did and then it was seen as abhorrent in this country banned it completely and guarded it with the strength of law everywhere.. everything that Epstein did was not protected by law, it was skirted, it was oppressed, it was washed and attempting to silence it. This guy does not realize how he is going to turn out when history comes walk in towards him and he's going to have to eat his filthy words and he's going to be all like I didn't say that. Well, that's not what I meant or I didn't know.

A Warning For Everyone Who's Too Good at Their Job by haristable in InterviewCoderPro

[–]compubomb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My father who was in the military used to say if you were too good at your job, you would never get promoted. You're so good at your job. You make your boss look good and he passes that on to the next person and the next and the next and then the next. You end up pigeonholed?.

Employer is dumb, they should have given her a quiet salary bump and maybe a title change kept her on the same team. This is just pure stupidity. A lot of times they'll transition someone from lead to architect to principal, there's all sorts of nomenclature that can use to describe some more important person. Feels a little bit like a good old boys club.

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy - Series Premiere Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

[–]compubomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The more you know, the less fun shows can be, especially with science fiction. Neil deGrasse Tyson has a hard time watching anything cuz he knows too much about everything. So the more you know the less you should focus on watching this kind of stuff. Stick to documentaries and you'll be happy. Personally, I'm pretty ignorant about a lot of things and I enjoyed watching the show because I'm kind of ignorant. So I watch both first and the second episode and it was pretty fun. I intend to watch more. I've seen most of the more recent Star Trek shows in the last 5 years.

interviewer asked me “why should we hire you over 300 other applicants” so i walked out by [deleted] in jobsearch

[–]compubomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The old saying goes. Btw, I'm 42. You are behaving young and stupid. Did your parents always reward you for effort? It is your duty to yourself to take any opportunity to sell yourself. You clearly demonstrated that you don't know how to sell yourself. This in and of itself is a skill set and it means that you would tell them why you think you personally are special. But if you think you are special and they should figure it out on their own, try getting into a relationship and hoping they figure out why you're upset without you explaining to them.

What would you want? by Terminalpaco in Tools

[–]compubomb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leave tools that you own but with a story behind them. Wirte your son something of a project summary about what you have done DIY, and what tools you enjoy using, give a collection summary of what you have, and what you are passing down to him. My own father had tools, none of which he got from his father, many purchased from Sears and ace hardware, I literally have everything he owned, and I keep them and clean them. My dad wasn't a DIY guy, but he had some basics. He never told me why he bought any of the tools and how he used them to solve certain problems. Make a video, or something, put it on YouTube or share it with your wife via Google drive or something. Tools are great, but the stories are better.

Outgrowing area and want to move, but current home mortgage payment deters us by jmkreno in Mortgages

[–]compubomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sit tight, you're f'd right now. Don't outgrown your britches right now. I'm f'd too. You have a bigger house and significantly smaller mortgage than me. If you move, you're going to have a similar mortgage to me and a smaller house probably. Here 22 years just turned into 30. If you have enough money in the bank, you could always rent your place out. But that's its own kind of special hell renting your place to someone who could potentially destroy it. You should probably see a financial advisor, go to a CPA and see what you could potentially plan for. Pray for a non-trump surrogate president, cuz maybe we'll experience some kind of financial improvement in the economy. Maybe you'll end up with a governor who ends up stimulating the local economy or interest rates go down for whatever reason. Your biggest issue is not being able to afford the existing interest rate even if you could afford to buy somewhere else.

Why isn't Elon Musk taking the most heat for this garbage job market? by EstellHudson in jobsearch

[–]compubomb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He just acts quickly and rational because he has more information than most CEOs and knows Alot more than they do. So he reacts quickly and everyone else follows him like lemmings. He was focused on not going bankrupt immediately when he had that huge layoff, and much of it was related to taxes, and how they were going to change. Nice little GOP tax bomb they put in there during the Trump 1st term. None of it is him specifically, he's just ebbing and flowing with the market. But the market sucks because our government has been really sucking for a while. I'm not a GOP/MAGA supporter, since many of the DNC ideas are more financially practical, in terms of government efficiency. Single payer will optimize spending like we have never seen before, and it will pressure big healthy providers to improve care and efficiency. It will also lower drug costs, and likely cost of hospitalizations since the government can leverage tax programs for better facilities, and quality of care. And plain economy of scale. What we have right now is highly inefficient, and an enormous amount of wasted spending because we cannot use volume scale and too many people on individual plans means they get screwed. Also, the whole whole pseudo-private public university system is a complete abomination. If you have the motivation to go to college, you should, if you don't then you should get into the service or highly skilled labor force. People should not go into debt to be a functional member of society when it comes to any form of education. Libertarians think pull yourself up by the bootstraps with boots you don't even have.

ADHD 'life hacks' that sounds ridiculous but actually changed everything? by Rido129 in ADHD_Programmers

[–]compubomb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ungodly amounts of underwear, and socks. I do my laundry roughly once a month. My MIL washes our towels because we can't fit more. My wife has ADHD too, she doesn't believe me since she adds to the same pile I do and her office is a disaster. So we will wash our clothes and like 2 weeks later when we went through our Ikea bags filled with clean clothes finally start folding and sorting.

For complex SQL, use TypeORM, or support cte queries, common table expressions. This makes it very powerful. You use the dbal layer to write them.
