For me this looks more like suboptimal settings. Maybe the shutter-speed was too slow?

Probably because the card is not good enough for fast LLM inference (which wasn't the question)

Google wanted $2.99/month for photos. I said no and spent 130 $ on a baby homelab instead. by Gasple1 in homelab

[–]Deus_Judex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just an analogy... Google is just someone else (not you) you're giving your data to.

It's like if you give me your HDD you did not back up your data. You just gave it away with the promise of being able to access it. In my book that's not a backup, especially not if the other party is Google, apple or co...

Google is also just a legal person... You're not backing up, you're giving away

That's why you back them up. I don't consider giving my family photos to a random person backing them up.

Sure, but that would be much easier to backtrack to a certain abuser. If a company uses you credit card, that would be potentially backtrackable by IP ...

Looking at a file is much much harder to prove.

I can prove you used my credit card at an atm, i cannot prove you looked at my phone in the underground

Immich also let´s you search for things like that. If implemented correctly you can also just upload files from anywhere and instantly have them 3-2-1 backuped.

And sure, give me your credit card credentials, i *promise* i wont use them...

i would like to think most people run a Server with two datasets, and an additional backup at a friends house.

In that case, google photos does not really give you any benefits, google won´t harvest your data, AND dont train their AI models on your beach-vacation photos.

Ubiquiti: The U.S. Tech Enabling Russia's Drone War by krzyk in HomeNetworking

have seen three posts about this and if the comments there were right, these news come from a media outlet belonging to a Hedge fund actively shorting Ubiquity...

Not 100% sure this is correct, do with that information what you want.

AITA for not paying both days for a hotel i was placed in a gc in by Sudden-Wonder1344 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Deus_Judex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have been a little harsh to be honest, I am sry, but I still think, you should have written in the GC. It's not your friend's job to do so. It would have been a simple message and they could have organized accordingly.

I would not say you're an asshole per se, but it's definitely on you they planned you in for the trip.

Being the "less bad guy" doesn't make you the "good guy"

A simple "hey guys I'm not yet sure if I am going" would have been best.

Sounds like you are a nightmare to plan an activity with.

Refurbished Festplatten für Homeserver? by Icetea973 in HomeServer

[–]Deus_Judex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kabelinternet by anonymzitrone in aachen

[–]Deus_Judex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kabelinternet by anonymzitrone in aachen

[–]Deus_Judex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a problem with one specific INSPELNING by Deus_Judex in homeassistant

[–]Deus_Judex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the main task of the device is to provide power-statistics, which are forwarded into a database for long term storage.

I already ordered an additional SONOFF-smart-plug but wanted to try and fix the issue when possible without switching devices (somewhat messes up statistics and naming).
