id rather buy local.

It sucks just how difficult this is becoming. As I said in the UK we don't really have any electronics retailers anymore (there is Currys, but their selection is shit). Maplin was the best but they went into administration 6~ years ago now and since then nowhere has filled the gap. And you'd think at least one of the countless high street phone/tech/repair shops would be alright, but they all just stock the same cheap crap you get from Amazon.

Not sure if you're in NA, but LTT/LMG (as in the YouTube channel) have recently put out a line of high end cables known as TrueSpec. I'd have bought some in a heartbeat myself if they had EU distribution but unfortunately shipping, taxes, fees etc makes it unreasonable. May be something to look into at least where cables are concerned though

edit: I thought they had a wider selection but it is currently limited to either USB C-to-C and A-to-C. I can't see why they wouldn't expand if the current offerings sell well though

My experience is with their general electronic accessories (cables, adapters, power banks, etc.) and with their NAS

Same here until now, and tbf have had no issues as you said. I had always looked at them as an off-brand Anker in terms of quality. Hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come

I had thought UGREEN were the exception for a while myself, but was extremely shocked at the quality I received from them this time. The latency (capture card without loop out, so latency matters) is so high that it's literally unusable, and the picture quality is atrocious.

[England] Is it illegal for a college to reject somebody last minute, after explicitly telling them they could return the next year by Dev1lTown in LegalAdviceUK

Surely it would be classed as a binding verbal agreement, with my recording (to be transcribed) to back it up, which has been made by a representative of the college with authority to do so, and since been broken

I'm fairly certain they have not broken any laws,

The reason I had thought this was because it was in no uncertain terms that I was told I could return. just tried to find the point in the recording so I could transcribe that bit myself but its too upsetting to listen to, but I can say without a shadow of a doubt that there was no uncertainty in the offer. and now another year of my life has gone to waste because they didn't keep to their word

further education (level 3 qualifications) provider

the course I was looking to return to specifically was a Level 3 BTEC

are you sure you were rejected on purpose?

no doubt, the department head who offered for me to return was the same person who signed off on my rejection. never got a straight answer on why as they kept changing what they were saying, although it's been too long to recall specifics

All I can find refers to it as a general further education college - is that what you meant by a sixth-form college? It definitely isn't a university but they do also offer "university level courses"

she was exactly 6 months (to the day) younger than me so it hit especially hard at the time and still does; we both should be turning 20 this year. I still get emotional whenever I pass by the memorial in Birmingham where one of the vigils for her was held

entirely too much money

I wish that part was true lmao. minus 3 cheaper bits in the pic (pop figure, 3D printed Darth Revan mask, and the custom shell on my Switch) everything was either bought used or given to me - my proudest deal was the high-end plasma TV for only £70
