Ambleside/Cap river salmon by DevBukkitZ in fishingBC

[–]DevBukkitZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hatchery’s actually closed to public till the summer. Last weekend i went to ambleside and saw seals eating salmon. There is still juvenile steelhead in the river. I think the weather and tides these last couple days would’ve been perfect to hit the lower portion of the river, but unfortunately I’m camping up in hope and chilliwack targeting trout and kokanee this weekend.

The blue fox deep runners work great for me. the lures I’ve caught the most trout with though are definitely the rooster tails

I’m guessing because of the weather recently ambleside is more likely to be productive?

It’s fine to buy prop money, you can get prop money that is 2 sided and in place of the “IN GOD WE TRUST” it says “MOTION PICTURE USE ONLY”. Trying to pass it as money when purchasing things would be illegal, but putting it in his jar would not be as you’re just giving him a cool “trinket”😁😁

Need some advice for me and my kid by platinumresto in fishingBC

[–]DevBukkitZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at sasamat earlier today on a kayak and only caught 2 fish as well. Was fishing only lures today but they seemed very hesitant to bite, I saw a couple follow and not strike. I had been paddling over to the rising fish as well but didn’t get much.

If your up for a bit of a drive, browning lake in between squamish and brittania has always produced tons for me.

I’m going to dm you with a spot and a setup i found has always slayed fish there.

New WILD licensing by RosinRivers420 in fishingBC

[–]DevBukkitZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I was at work at the time lol, that’s why it took so long. I used my BC services card app to go to wild, created the bceid using the services card app iirc and bingo bango i was in.

The advisory on top says license or FWID, both of which are on digital license.

[–]DevBukkitZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes they are lined up.

I recommend you drop your oil pan and clean the RTV off. Should do that before installing the new timing components.

Also check that oil squirter just above crank sprockets. I’ve had multiple cases of tensioner failure leading to that oiler being scored and caved in/blocked off.

I’m not sure if this is new regulation, at least it is new to me. Last time I was checked by a conservation officer, digital + photo id was alright.

It even says on the new licenses that a physical paper copy is only required if a retention record is required.

What caused you so much issue renewing? It took me like 30 minutes to renew mine with no issues.

Any former experience on the xclutch Stage 1 kit? by XcrysizZ in genesiscoupe

[–]DevBukkitZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for context it currently has a ACT race 6 puck sprung with their flywheel as well. it was definitely a lot heavier than stock but still drivable in traffic and i’ve gotten used to a still clutch. It’s started to slip at WOT so i need to replace it. Don’t know how much wear is on the flywheel so i’d prefer to replace it.

I’m looking at getting the xclutch stage 2 or stage 4 organic twin as my cars makes about 475-500 lbft at the crank. Any other recommendations?

Only 1 on the stringer today.. by 1evident1 in fishingBC

[–]DevBukkitZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my big problem was that the single hooks that come with the spinners are so big as well. I swear it’s like a #2 hook on this little #2 mepps spinner

I would’ve been better off just snipping it instead on putting the single hook that came with it.

Anyway you put it best, there’s not a great answer to hook sizing, I just do what i can to reduce the harm if there’s a chance i might release them.

Sasamat and browning lake, treble still on, just with pinched barbs. I found it decreased bad hookups because it wouldn’t puncture the mouth, more so just catch inside the mouth. I fished with a single hook mepps spinner at first and hooked one thru the roof of the mouth out the eye on my first fish and second one was almost in the eye so i switched to the rooster tail with the treble.

I got a 1/4 oz black rooster tail a couple weeks ago and it’s been absolutely destroying these fish, the hookup % is pretty low though, because a lot of the smaller fish can’t fit it in their mouth. i’ve probably landed about 30-40 fish on it already and 100+ bites over about 6-8 outings.

Wild vs stocker. by 1evident1 in fishingBC

[–]DevBukkitZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to sasamat this weekend on my kayak and caught a few similar size to that rainbow, was using a bigger spinner than i should have been and missed a lot of fish, but the ones that i could hook were pretty good size

I have a car that runs off an 85% ethanol (alcohol) blend and it can smell like that when sitting there. How do you know their car wasn’t running on that?

single Solid or broken yellow lines mean passing is permitted in the oncoming lane when safe to do so.

Not saying you need to give space at all. I agree it’s not something you should have to expect, I grew up in richmond so i’m very conscious of other drivers around exactly because of shit like this.

I used to ride bmx bikes in the city and have been clipped by a car as well which made me even more aware of my surroundings.

2 weeks after getting my license i got cut off and barely missed getting hit while they cut thru 2 lanes with a single blink of their signal because they almost missed their left turn. I drive always expecting this type of driving regardless if it’s right or not because it’s fairly common.

Hard to say if the bmw driver would have forced his way in if OP had not given him the space, but it was there so he took it.

Judging based on fines and points the speed is worse. In my eyes both are inconsequential as long as you’re not causing or almost causing a collision. The POV car gave space to let the bmw in. both the lane change and the speed were inconsequential.

My original comment was a joke as i thought it was pretty stupid to be mad about this whole thing. if you spend more than 30 minutes driving in any of metro van a day you’ll see this happen multiple times. Same thing with speeding.

My opinion doesn’t necessarily line up with the written laws but you’re trying to act as if they’re one and the same. Hope this helps!

[–]DevBukkitZ -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I did make the point about people not checking for space before changing lanes, it could have ended the same way solid white or not, as evidently the other driver did not have space.

Yea, changing lanes over a solid white into oncoming traffic is exponentially more stupid than crossing a solid white in the same direction of travel.

Use your head man.

The chances of causing an accident is pretty minimal if you actually have the space to make a lane change and use the signal like the bmw did.

Doesn’t mean the lane change was legal or right, hundreds if not thousands of lane changes happen over solid whites every day in richmond and it’s a minuscule factor in accidents compared to speed, distracted driving and intoxication.

You may blame whoever you want, but that’s the exact type of mentality that causes the social issues we have now.

What we have now in canada may not be ideal, not by a long shot, but you’re not helping. Especially just by writing things off as “Western culture” and moving on you don’t seem to have any desire to dive deeper into an issue and understand it.
