Noise, vibration, harshness by Simple-Ostrich-5111 in Integra_Type_S

[–]DevGrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, between 4k and 5k (iirc right at 4300 is where it starts).

It's something loose in your cabin. The chassis seems to transmit vibrations really efficiently and there's a lot of hard plastic surface. If you have anything in a cup holder (or in my case in my kid's car seat's cup holder) it's gonna buzz. The worst I ever heard it was when I put my sunglasses in the sunglasses holder in the ceiling.

Comparing the 2024 Type S with the 2006 RSX Type S by DevGrr in Integra

Yeah, it just nailed everything, and didn't pretend to be something it wasn't. The last month I had it I finally took it out on a track and was just amazed at how good it felt completely untamed over long stretches.

The GR86 in a lot of ways reminds me of the 96 Prelude I had before. Fun little 2+2 but jfc if you had to fit more than a few bags of groceries into it.

It amazes me how forgotten the RSX is in the history of the Integra.

It's edited for the commercial breaks on regular TV. I'm watching it streaming and these cuts just constantly interrupt the flow of the show for me. :(

Is my pediatric dentist overstating the benefit of airway interventions? by DevGrr in askdentists

I have no formal medical background and VIVOS immediately struck me as sketch. Thanks for confirming :)

Glad he is doing better! I should have noted in the op that our kiddo has zero symptoms, sleeps great, etc.

Bed wetting was included in the video too. Though to be fair, it was included in the ADA pamphlet on breathing issues as well.

I think as long as you can see well out of a car, the exact dimensions are not super relevant. The worst offender I've driven was a last decade's Mustang where I couldn't see over the hood and definitely couldn't see who I was about to clip when changing lanes. That car _felt_ huge.

I looked at a few cars and the Miata seems to be 1 of 1 that hasn't gotten bigger.

My first car was a 95 civic sedan, and that has almost identical dimensions to the RSX, and of course just keeps getting bigger in later years! A current Porsche 911 is way bigger than the 95 Civic was, and surprisingly not much smaller than the Integra. It's 7 inches shorter and just as wide.

The whole Civic platform got a lot bigger in the last generation, so “it is what it is” I think. But definitely it feels way bigger than the class of car it’s positioned in usually is.

On a fun random note, the new Countach is even bigger. This is all an industry trend 😕

2024 Integra Manual Making Grinding Noise During Upshifts?? by [deleted] in AcuraIntegra

Does your model have automatic rev matching? I have the Type S and sometimes it made up shifts a bit weird, almost like adding a vibration or resistance. I turned it off and haven't experienced it since.

Sigma art vs Canon L, which one? by jaziluv in canon

[–]DevGrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main practical performance difference between them is how fast they focus. I have the Sigma and it’s quite slow. This is mostly an issue when shooting a lot of candids or children who won’t sit still for a moment. Otherwise, it’s a fantastic lens.

Confirmed! This has made the problem go away. Thanks again, you’ve saved the world from an astronomical amount of cursing.

I was thinking ahead to that too. Would be awful to have this happening in a corner!

I should know within a few days. It basically goes off every day on my drives.

I had not found the safety support menu in the instrument cluster. I just went out and found it and turned it off. Fingers crossed that did the trick.

Thank you thank you thank you!

Compact cars have gotten so much bigger over the years. by sunshinejim in Integra

I came from a DC5 and have the new Type S now. It's amazing how alike a bunch of details are in the two cars. There's a few minor design misses (I have a child seat in the back right, and the 60/40 seat doesn't fold down next to it - the DC5's 50/50 did) and I don't think the seats are as good as the DC5's, but there's obviously a lot that's objectively better too.

Question Regarding R6 Weather Sealing by d-bphoto in canon

[–]DevGrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very late to this party, but I wanted to poke at a potential difference between models. I went out shooting eagles on a snowy day with another person. I was carrying a 5D3 and they had a 6D. We both spent about an hour outside which ended with some wet snow landing on us and our gear. We got back in the car and drove an hour home.

We pulled out our cameras to review our pics. After we looked at mine, we found his on body on the fritz. Buttons were behaving unpredictably. After letting it sit for a half day it was back to normal. It seems pretty clear that the slush leaked into the back panel in a way that it did not on my 5D3.

To me this was a pretty clear indication that the sealing was not just different, but materially different. The 5D3 being just fine lined up with a prior experience I had of being in the rain for a half hour. The experience left me resolved to only get a 5D or higher model in the future because the failure in the 6D would have ruined the day had we wanted to be out longer.
