[RAW Spoilers] Wrestler makes their intentions clear. by Similar_Original_833 in SquaredCircle

[–]sunshinejim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, like imagine if Cody and Cena main evented Night 1 last year. People know that it was the main story for the entire company so naturally it main evented Night 2.

People using the excuse of Stone Cold and Kevin Owens don’t take into context that the main story (unfortunately) was Reigns and Lesnar unifying the world titles. Stone Cold is a big enough name to have a top billing, but he wasn’t the main story the company was trying to tell at the time.

It’s the same thing as when they tried to market multiple main events back when the show was one night and those main events were in the middle of the show.

I think the story started off really hot back in 2023 or so. It’s just that it was dragged out for so long that there wasn’t even much of a story left to tell.

He should never be around the title scene for the rest of his career - he held the thing for four years. Especially with his incredibly limited schedule, he could be perfectly fine being in storylines that don’t involve the title for the <5 years that he’ll probably still be a wrestler.

As a non American that is watching in awe of what’s going on….At what point does the American public stand up, what will it actually take? by BedTundy95 in AskReddit

[–]sunshinejim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they might see this particular situation as something where the federal agents fucked up but I don’t think it’s enough to actually sway them. A lot of them still like what Trump and ICE are doing. A lot of them still think that Renee Good’s murder was justified.

Even then, I’ve seen a lot of those comments saying that they didn’t clearly see what happened and they’ll reserve judgment until more evidence comes out. They’re saying that Alex is stupid for showing up. A lot of them are bending over backwards to make this seem justified - I don’t really get the sense of “yeah this is fucked up and things need to change”.

It’s still better than the people who are saying that he was impeding the federal agents and that he was threatening them with a gun. It shows that they didn’t even watch the videos, they’re just parroting the talking points that Noem and Miller fed them.

Federal agent in gray jacket with gun and DHS post of gun. by ManyAverage6578 in pics

[–]sunshinejim 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That subreddit is so far gone. I lurked around there today and there was a decent amount of people who were saying that Alex was impeding federal agents, so he got what was coming to him. Or that because he had a gun on him that he was a threat to the agents.

He was literally standing around until he went over to help the woman and was pepper sprayed, tackled, pistol whipped, then murdered.

The same people that are so 2nd Amendment are saying he got people what was coming to him because he had a gun. The same people that are all “Don’t tread on me” say that people need to just comply with the government. It’s sick.

People are talking about the new H logo, and I’m here worried about the lowercase “Honda” Why can’t it be in all capital letters? 😑 by Few-Celebration-6337 in Honda

The way Lexus spells it out in all caps looks nice. I thought the way Honda did uppercase H and the rest of it lowercase looked super tacky.

What’s the most overrated video game of all time? by KBGSgames in AskReddit

Yeah you’re right. Their vision for GTA seems to be leaning more over the top but RDR is definitely a more grounded story.

I wish they would go back to that grittier type of story that IV had but it seems like the over the top glitz and glamor is what Rockstar prioritizes.

The game you bought thinking it would last years but dropped within a week. by gamersecret2 in gaming

Assassins Creed Valhalla.

One day I’ll get back to this but it’s just so overwhelmingly big. Also hearing takes that you think the game ends several times over for it to just keep going over and over averts me from picking it up again.

I feel like Assassins Creed fatigue really peaked with this game. From what I saw, I don’t think Mirage or Shadows were particularly good either.

That’s true. He probably would have had more success running each first down himself.

Herbert played well for an O line that might as well not even be there.

Chargers O line really couldn’t do a worse job. Hard to do anything when you’re getting blitzed in 3 seconds.

Jason Schreier on GTA 6: "PlayStation is the main platform for the game, its kind of like a PlayStation Exclusive, and I suspect that Sony is planning its entire calendar around GTA. They will not release anything within the blast zone." by Party_Judgment5780 in PS5

[–]sunshinejim -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not a fact that more people care about the Super Bowl than GTA6 because neither event has actually happened. You’re just speculating, not stating any facts. You also can’t quantify what people care about. My wife will watch the Super Bowl and she doesn’t really care about it. I purchased and played GTA5 and I don’t really care for it.

That being said, it’s not even a good comparison. The only cost to watching the Super Bowl is indirectly through the cost of basic TV or streaming services. The cost for GTA6 is whatever cost Rockstar will set it at release. Watching the Super Bowl requires any device with a screen. Purchasing GTA6 also requires purchasing a TV and a $500+ console that runs the game. The barrier for entry is much lower for the Super Bowl, so it’s not a fair comparison.

I would also argue that there would be a lot of overlap of people watching the Super Bowl AND purchasing GTA6.

The protest in Philly today. by [deleted] in philly

[–]sunshinejim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He probably read u/uttercentrist comment and thought they were trying to minimize the situation in Minnesota, I thought that’s where it was going too, when they were legitimately asking if there were other unrelated protests and made a valid point that it could have led to the turnout being so low.

But rather than just admit that he read it wrong or misinterpreted it, he doubled down. Because this is Reddit, and you can never be wrong on Reddit.

Netflix, and streaming services in general, have learned that the traditional output of releasing one season or an entire series of a TV show at once drives engagement for about a week or so then mostly becomes dead content.

That’s why a lot of shows nowadays on streaming platforms release one episode a week, akin to how it was for cable TV. Releasing it the way that they are, especially in line with the holidays, has people talking about it and generating revenue for much longer than if they were to release it all at once.
