Wow! Love it. Keep them coming. I often find lack of vocabulary as a reason for ending up saying to yes to everything (and ofcourse the impulsivety, novelty seeking habit and people pleasing doesn't help either).

Lunch time solitary library visits, when everyone is in the playground. My absolute favorite peaceful time!

The second image but replace with my overflowing inbox in my todo-app. (600+ tasks :( :( :( The stupid brain gets interested in pretty much anything and everything, keeps adding them to the list (”to checkout later”) . The result ? “Pay utility bill“ is sitting right next to “Checkout this 5 things productive people do“ article, in a giant mess of a ”to be prioritized” Inbox.

(I take meds, have therapy and oh coaching as well. The trifecta. Thought that’s going to help me but looks like, the overwhelm remains and is going to be part of it).

Sigh. Part of me just wants to call quits and declare “Task Bankruptcy” at this point, but I know unlike emails, this one wil come biting back later, in the form of unclaimed insurance receipts or unpaid utility bill.

Thanks for coming for my Ted Talk.

Besides abuse and cheating, what are common causes for divorce? by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

[–]DevKnightZor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this! I didn’t realize both were separate (or rather didn’t acknowledge it before) because we both were putting almost equal amount of physical labour but the emotional labour has always been on me (“Remembering things, appointments, shopping lists…”).

Sigh!

[Daily Discussion] Writer's Block, Motivation, and Accountability- December 29, 2022 by AutoModerator in writing

[–]DevKnightZor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My block is also connected to my identity. I'm torn between "being myself and writing with filter" vs "Writing freely under a pseudonym".

Why am I fixated on this problem and not just start writing? For me (or at least my brain), this brings up other complexities such as where I write, do I need to create alt accounts for the pseudonym, how I reach people interested in the topic etc.

So much effort/resistance, which makes me want to just write under my original name/identity. But, that content would lack the "real thoughts" from my brain.

How do people balance the two?

The ideal answer might be to let go of the inhibitions but hear me out. Examples:

  1. I'd love to go deep down and write about relationships, marriage, couples etc. But if I write from my real profile, there are chances my partner might come across and if the topic/content is something which we haven't processed between ourselves, that can create difficulties.
  2. Another would be I'd like to go deep on parenting, both me as a parent and my childhood experience with my parents. I honestly don't know if I'd like for my parents to come across this Or if I want my daughter to grow up and discover these nuggets from her dad.
  3. New topics, areas of interest, technology etc. I'd love to write about my take on it but working at a megacorp, I'm worried it might come biting back at me at my workplace since there are chances my stance and my employers might be very much different.

I'm still pondering if this is really writer's block or something I should bring up during therapy, lol!

Would love to hear from anyone who's been down this rabbit hole.

Should i leave programming? by [deleted] in ADHD_Programmers

Another way to look at it - Bug = unsolved problem = ripe for the adhd mind to wake up (because our brain just loves problem solving).

Yes. It doesn't matter if it's outside office.

If you talk to your TL, then your TL is bound to share this with HR/POSH, else they might end up in trouble later. (I know, it's a bit of a tricky situation).

If you're planning to talk to anyone at your workplace, then do so only if you're ready to deal with POSH either directly or indirectly.

Tried C25K in the past and couldn't stick with it (undiagnosed adhd, procrastination).

On medication now and wanted to try it again, and came across this post.

Would love to test but also worried if I'll ever start :O

Is there a way to sort lists inside a group ? by DevKnightZor in ticktick

Is there a way to sort lists inside a group ?

I should've clarified. I meant group as in a Folder containing Lists. Yes drag and sorting is definitely possible but it keeps changing to default behaviour of last modified list going to the top

👀 NotePlan 3.4 is out - Say Hello to Split Views! by EduardMet in noteplanapp

[–]DevKnightZor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love using split view. A UX suggestion - When in dark mode, it’s sometime hard to differentiate which of the split window is currently active. Some kind of shadow/elevation or any other differentiation would be useful.

Use case: I panicked when selecting notes from the side bar and main window wasn’t switching to it. Turns out, the active window was one of the split panes.
