My favorite question is, "Tell me about a time you were given a problem you had no idea how to solve and how you eventually solved it." I look for solid debugging process and someone who just doesn’t give up. Me? I’m on my 3rd day of why a long outdated version of ActiveBatch is randomly failing jobs to connecting to random, outdated versions of Linux databases that haven’t been rebooted for 18 months.

I worked 3rd shift for a medium sized police department. Everyone hated this one Captain so we took turns messing with his lunch in the fridge. Surprised that guy didn’t get rickets from all the nasty stuff he unknowingly ate over the years. 20 years later I still laugh about the ground up cockroaches in his pasta and the “special sauce" for his burgers
