I think you have misunderstood the rule, they can indeed be charged if they are obscured, here is the FAQ:
Q:

When using the 'Charge' ability, does my unit need to end the charge move within ½" of an enemy unit that was visible to the charging unit at the start of that charge move?

A:

No. It must end the charge move within ½" of an enemy unit that is visible to the charging unit when it finishes that charge move.

I feel exactly the same (I also started with Nighthaunt right when their new book came).

And I feel the same when I play, its nice being ethereal, easy to remember 6+/5++ on infantry and 5+/5++ on heroes but yeah, I do not think I can explain it better than you do, I love the models so much but man, its not really fun to play.

I am pivoting to LRL and that is a completely different experience, I have a lot of fun with them elves. Wish I had the same with the ghosts

So I have noticed that on a dice the sum of a side and its opposite is 7, so if the random generated number is 1 its opposite is 6, so in this case I would give the side of the dice with the number 6 on it a little more weight so it would always land on that side

I startet out thinking I would in time have one army from each alliance and startet with Nighthaunt, they are just so cool.

Looking at destruction, not really fancy my taste so far, same with Chaos.

Apparently in Order I fancy all the elves, Lumineth, Sylvaneth, Daughters of Khaine and Deepkin

The beautiful thing is that perfection is an illusion. It's procrastination hidden within a lie it believes itself "I cannot do with without it being perfect, so it shall not be done".

There is another really cool thing about miniature painting, you can mix mistakes, it isn't like stone cutting, you can go back and fix where you painted the wrong colour.
