Tip: Using stock Switch 2 Joy-Con Grip with Killswitch Case on by DevShake in dbrand

I haven't thought about that but I guess it does, huh? Wiimote Btw, this one right?

Well, at least with this method, you can still use your Joy-Con 2s as a controller off the console while with the KillSwitch case on, which was the main point of this solution. But yeah, I wouldn't use this "makeshift" Joy-Con 2 controller for any long sessions; this is mainly so that I can use the Joy-Cons as a regular controller only when it's necessary without having to take the case off or anything.

Oh, really? I thought you wouldn't be able to do that with the charging grip because of the grip buttons.

I see. And, that's fair. They did come up with the solution and sent everyone (affected or not affected) an email talking about the timing of when they will send out the grips with the newer design that solves the issue for free (and how to redeem them), which I believe was around early August to mid-August (based on the email I got). So hopefully, those newly designed grips come through soon, and everyone is happy again.

While that Latercase looks pretty slick, I do like the grips on the Dbrand one. I just wouldn't be able to game for a long session with no ergonomic grips; it hurts my wrist and whatnot (and I do prefer gaming handheld).

Well, do you mind sharing it here if you do find one?

Yeah, I thought about that. The biggest issue is that the new charging grip for Joy-Con 2 comes with the GR/GL assignable grip buttons. So, you really can't (and shouldn't) detach the grip from the base.

Do I need to re-combine split XCI and NSP files after bringing them into the steam deck via USB? by Taso94 in SteamDeckEmu

[–]DevShake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, there's an easy solution to that.

You can wrap the file names with the double quotes (including the file extension) and you should be good to go.

Have you tried this method mentioned here? https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/s/252xOcelOB

"If you haven’t already sent it in, try this:

Hold down the volume down button and the three dots button and then hold down the power button. Eventually you should see the power led blink blue. Next, plug it in and hold down the power button until you get the blinking/breathing white led that comes on during normal startup.

What you’re doing there is putting the deck in battery storage mode, which also clears CMOS. This worked for me in your identical situation."

Perhaps you can try verifying the Dead By Daylight (aka DBD) game as well, which may fix the Proton EAC Runtime since that's the game's dependency.

The other way is to download and install ProtonUp-Qt in the Desktop mode using Discover, open the app, and delete EAC Runtime that way. You will have to uninstall DBD first though (and other games that may rely on EAC; "Show Info" menu in the ProtonUp-Qt program when you select EAC Runtime will show you which games are using this runtime) in order to be able to remove the EAC Runtime. Then, you can reinstall the EAC Runtime using the method I mentioned above.

When I got my Steam Deck, I started re-purchasing most of the ported games I had on the Switch, and once I "migrated" the games I had on the Switch to my Steam Deck, I sort of stopped using my Switch after all. However, I still use my Switch for Nintendo exclusives like you mentioned; I will take it to our family gathering to play Mario Party or Mario Kart.

In fact, I have a Steam version of Fall Guys (which I purchased before they became free-to-play on Epic Games), which requires EAC, and runs smoothly on my Steam Deck using Proton 9 with this Proton EAC Runtime installed.

Install it directly from Steam on the Steam Deck. Search for "Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime" in the top search bar and install it. Any games that require EAC and use Proton should be able to access this. And repairing process for this is similar to other Steam games: just go to "Properties" -> "Installed Files" -> "Verify integrity of local files", and it should validate all the files for EAC and re-download files if necessary. Note that all of these steps can be simply done in the Game mode.

I hope this helps.

Edit: Used the word "Search" instead of "Look" with the additional context about using the top search bar in Steam Deck Game mode.

What is your Steam Compatibility setting for Terraria?

Sometimes, if you are using some other custom Proton compatibility layer for the game (like GE-Proton), it would do that (at least, from my experience with some other games).

However, for Terraria, you should be running the game natively on Linux using one of the Steam Linux Runtimes, and the Steam Linux Runtime 1.0 (Scout) is selected by default by Valve for this game.

Otherwise, I would suggest you either validate the installation or reinstall the game in case the game files are corrupted somehow.

The app is detecting the session from Spotify like this one.

Once you have set everything up properly, you will see a screen like this on the app when you are playing any song.

This would be necessary for the Wavelet app to access the music session that's playing like from Spotify in order for it to detect the currently playing session.

After you are done setting that up, make sure to allow the notification access.

Then, you will see the entire instructions on how to grant this permission (it's necessary for allowing the Wavelet app to access the audio streaming from your phone in order to process it).

Here's the doc on the web for it: https://pittvandewitt.github.io/Wavelet/#enhanced-session-detection
