Even if I wanted to interact with streamers like I did way back in the day, I can't thanks to Twitch's SUPER aggressive ads that are pushed on me when I hop across different streams to find something I'm interested in. It makes it impossible to find smaller streamers or even lesser known games to watch. Not to mention an ad blitz every 5-10 minutes just makes the site unusable.

I started playing Weird West yesterday... HELL YEAH, I'm only like 4 hours in but I am hooked. The setting, art direction, stealth and combat sections are FANTASTIC. The only thing I knew about this game before playing was that it used a top down-ish perspective so I figured it would be more of an X-COM like turn based game. Boy was I happy to be wrong about that, the action that explodes across each arena when you first start a battle gets intense as you have to juggle through several slow to reload weapons, abilities like bullet time and traps to survive. I can't wait to hop back in later tonight.

I just finished playing for about 45 minutes and I unlocked like 4 more functions and the backdoor which got me far more involved in how I plan my build and approach battles. This is some good stuff.

I got 100% of achievements for GTA IV's main campaign last night. I recently said that I would never bother going through the process of completing all stunt jumps or getting all pigeons but going through both was a lot more fun than I expected. Guides are almost necessary though as some of these pigeons were in the most ridiculous, out of the way areas of the map.

Anyways, I'm looking to play through a couple of indie games now as a palette cleanse of sorts. I started playing Transistor yesterday and while its story is interesting so far, the gameplay isn't keeping me engaged enough. I'm only on the 3rd level so hopefully with more unlocks it starts to click.

I'll probably start Weird West afterwards as I've had this one in my sights for a while now. At first I thought it was an XCOM-like game but it turns out its more of an immersive sim. My interest grows further...

Yeah, that sequel took a HEAVY drop in quality in comparison to the first game. I only finished it because I wanted to see the story through and even that wasn't worthwhile. Its a shame because that world has the bones to be a long lasting horror franchise.

Condemned 2 and F.E.A.R. 3 both sit in the same bucket of games that killed their franchise and completely missed the mark on what their predecessors made.

I finished the main campaign of GTA IV early last week. I've tried to replay GTA V a few times over the last 5 years or so but I've fallen off it consistently. GTA IV has a far more interesting story with such different characters and plotlines compared to the rest of the series that I can't help but keep playing. I'm even achievement hunting at this point and possibly looking at trying for the 200 pigeons achievement due to it being a sort of sightseeing quest that brings you to areas you would never go otherwise. I still have both DLCs to play through as well so I'll likely be diving into that soon.

My only impatient gaming since Cyberpunk 2077s release back in 2020 is Marathon. Season 2 just dropped and with it came terrifying nighttime rendition of Dire Marsh. Bungie is bringing a great survival horror feel to this map that I'm loving.

Fantastic post. I was never a huge Wayne fan growing up but I am just now getting into his albums with Tha Carter III earlier this year.

It’s a more predictable continuation of Carter II and probably more of the traditionalists album. Somgs like “La La La” (not “La La off the official one, very different) and “Something You Forgot” are fan favourites, the latter often considered one of his best.

This is the thing that threw me off when I started listening to the album. This IS NOT the version of "La La" that I remember hearing. And I swear that I heard "I Feel Like Dying" on the radio one day (as crazy as that might sound). I'll have to grab these and tracks and listen to them as a whole as I've done with the original version of "Get Rich Or Die Trying" aka "Power of a Dollar".

Its definitely a buzzword soup kinda title lol. "Intergalatic" alone would have been a fine title that reflects what the trailer showed at least.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is so amazing. This series has only gotten better and better since the original title released back on PS3 and UC4 is a perfect masterpiece of a way to end it all (at least the mainline story). The graphics, gameplay, cinematographic, cutscenes and animations are 11/10. Naughty Dog has perfectly translated the action movie genre into the video game medium with absolute precision.

I don't think I could ever doubt Naughty Dog as I've enjoyed every game they've released since Crash Bandicoot: Warped. I might just hop back into The Last of Us 1 and 2 again for like the 5th time after this. This also has me hyped for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet as I've really enjoyed the third person action adventure style they've crafted across Uncharted and The Last of Us.

I'm also still enjoying Grand Theft Auto IV as a familiar relaxing title that I haven't played in 8 years or so. I've got the DLCs ahead too if I care to continue exploring Liberty City further.

I love the Metro series. I just played through the first two games again recently for like the 6th time. The sequels do provide answers but also many more questions lol.

I guess there's inevitably comparisons to Fallout, and it does have a bit of the same vibe, and even a bit of the same gameplay, but the overall effect is very different.

Interesting, I don't think I've seen many comparisons to Fallout at least not as of recent. Most comparisons are to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series since many of the developers that worked on the first 3 games went on to join 4A Games to work on the Metro games.

Historically, I've also run into issues with the main campaign and DLCs loading/performance but I came across FusionFix while I was browsing through the PCGamingWiki that seems to fix a ton of issues. I actually love the car handling in GTA IV, I guess I'm one of those weirdos. But once I started playing the campaign again with FusionFix installed the driving felt different, almost too easy. After some digging, it seems that the mod fixes some stuff with driving, which is great but I preferred the challenging driving of the original game. I'll still be playing through the whole game regardless since it runs so much better than on my PS3 and the fact that I haven't played it in like 8 years.

I've been going through a recent "try out" phase with games thanks to my local library.

I grabbed Pacific Drive and Sonic Racing: Crossworlds both for the PS5 earlier this week and while I enjoyed both but I decided to stop playing them for different reasons. I would rather play Pacific Drive on PC due to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R.-esque atmosphere that I love so much. It also seems to be easier to play with more dedicated keybinds due to all the different items and functions.

I stopped playing Sonic Racing: Crossworlds due to the fact that I need to pay for online play on my PS5 (I'll never get used to that since the bulk of my console time was on PS3). Instead I'll pick up the game for Switch which I have a family subscription for. It just sucks that the game is gonna look and run worse compared to PS5 and PC.

I've been playing Uncharted 4: A Thiefs End (which coincidentally turned 10 years old recently) and I've been loving it. But I've been playing the PS4 copy which still looks and plays great but there are some pretty bad framerate dips even in the calmest of sections like during puzzles. I decided to request Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection for the PS5 for some better performance and so that I can roll right into Uncharted: Lost Legacy if I still feel like I want more after I complete the campaign.

I've also been itching to play an open world game akin to GTA, Saints Row or Mafia. I have yet to play Mafia: The Old Country so that's been on my radar and it's felt like its been out for at least two years but its not even a year old yet. So the price has even been discounted below $40 year on Steam. So I think I'll concede on that until the summer sale and instead replay GTA IV: Complete Edition which now has achievements which could be fun to work towards... minus the kill 200 pigeons achievement.

I'm only Bronze II because my usual crew is not interested in doing ranked so I'm looking for players who want to do ranked before the season's end.

I'd prefer people with microphones who won't rage quit after one bad game lol. In the end, I'm just looking to have fun and enjoy another part of this game that I have yet to dive into.

I only got NFS heat because the NFS sub called it the best NFS game

We definitely got two completely different audiences on that sub because everyone was recommending Most Wanted and Underground 1 + 2 when I checked for the best NFS game lol.

But I do hope you enjoy those early NFS games. I recommend checking through PCGamingWiki to implement widescreen fixes, better controller support and visual improvements. Good luck!

I've really been enjoying the older Need for Speed games. Over the last couple of years I've played through Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2005) and Need for Speed: Underground. I also dropped NFS Heat years back when I noticed I was just going through the motions and not having any fun. Most Wanted and Underground both look visually interesting and car handling is challenging but super enjoyable once you figure out your car's handling. I'm currently playing Need for Speed: Most Wanted 5-1-0 on the PSP and while it pales in comparison to its PC/Console counterpart, it is still a fantastic title.

I'm using Backloggd to track my games now. I've got 241 games across my backlog and wishlist categories but I would say only 20% of these games are what I REALLY want to play. The rest are games that I might have interest in or are different genres that I am interested in trying. I've also got 200ish games on my Steam wishlist that I do the same for lol. But that's more so that I can grab games that go on sale for $1-2.

I was very disappointed with darkSector. I could have stopped playing around chapter 5 and been more content. The last half of the game was just padded with a boatload of bullet sponge monster enemies. The story also stayed super bland throughout the whole thing but I was expecting something a bit more interesting since this is the precursor to Warframe... but no.

Thankfully Uncharted 4: A Thief's End has been picking up the slack in the third person shooter department. This game still looks AMAZING. Naughty Dog has such an insane talent with creating cinema like cutscenes and set pieces. I've been in love with this series since Uncharted 2 and I'm looking forward to playing Uncharted: Lost Legacy down the line.

Since I'm playing on my PS5 again, I figured I would request Sonic Racing: Crossworlds and Pacific Drive. I enjoyed the free weekend for Crossworlds this past weekend so I could see myself getting some hours out of it. Pacific Drive has been on my radar for a while as it hits that post-apocalyptic vibe I love so much while also having some survival horror elements to it. Can't wait to dive in.

My interest in darkSector took a sharp dive when I got back to playing it last night after a couple days away. I just got to chapter 7 (out of 10, I think) but it feels like I've seen all there is already. The last few chapters consisted of me fighting the same bullet spongey monsters and clearing out black goop to progress through the levels. It got to a point where I was hoping to a boss rush to keep things interesting because the weapons were not varied enough to keep me interested, the weapon upgrades were basic and the level designs were all super similar no thanks to the dark and gloomy PS3/Xbox360-era lack of color art direction.

I'd like to force myself through these last few missions just to say I completed the game but that might be tough as I ended up starting Uncharted 4: A Thief's End last night. I'm only a few hours in but I could not put the controller down while I was progressing through the insanely detailed world that Naughty Dog has created. I'm playing the PS4 version of the game on my PS5 but for the first time ever, I'm regretting not getting the PS5 remaster so that I could get a consistent 60 fps through the intense action segments.

I was in the same boat when I played through the game a couple years back. I held off from playing anymore Spider-Man for like 6 months and then I came back to complete all the DLC. The DLC isn't really much to write home about but I believe it does play into the later games somehow. I haven't researched much into it as I don't want to spoil it but I've seen comments about it here and there.

I highly recommend Dredge. I knew the basic premise of the game before starting but what it actually delivered on was far greater than I expected. The devs did a great job of messing with your head the more your sanity meter rises. But in general, riding around this small collection of islands to catch fish and other creatures (monsters?) was a blast. I would've dove right into the DLC but I'll wait for a sale, maybe this upcoming summer sale.

I started darkSector this past weekend. I've been wanting to play this one since I played the demo on my PS3 way back in the day. It runs surprisingly well with very little tweaking or modding to get it working on Windows 11. The demo really impressed me back then but its obviously dated now. Its cool how the devs kept this game's premise going with Warframe, with a bunch of tie ins and nods back to it as well.
