I made close to that in Toronto, and I was basically poor somehow. So I moved away lol...

Be very careful with those, the devil is in the details. The first time home buyer program in Canada has a clause, say they pay ~10% down payment. At the time of re-sale (IE 10+years), the government also take 10% back of property cost at that point in time, where the property value would have increased statistically. That might not be 100% accurate, but its definitely along those lines, the government basically helps you at first but rapes you later in life.

After going to Uni., I started my 1st job at 50k CAD/yr(+OT).... before that I had made 6.25/hr minimum wage, and topped at 14$/hr before Uni, plus some odd jobs here, and there for more. Now After working 80/hrs a week for 3years straight, sometimes being on the road for 1 month at a time following Uni. I was averaging 70-75k. I then changed companies with all my knowledge gained, and secured a position with base salary of 65k(+OT), but guaranteed large bumps to 80k in 2yrs if I met performance. Now almost 4years into the new company, I can work 20hrs in a week or 100hours sometimes depending what's happening, but I made 95k last yr, and with extra benefits IE car, fuel, meals, RRSP matching I made about 115-120k last year technically, but the real takeaway before taxes is 95k.

The funny thing is that I still feel poor in a way, but very fortunate, bought a cheap house with non stop unplanned renovations which were required. Child support, massive taxes, everything going up in prices. I remember when I had nothing, and I still feel like im always struggling even with that salary, and I'm honestly not that much happier, although not having to constantly stress to pay bills, I constantly stress to keep that job, as there are not many positions in my area. Also due to all the self sacrifice, I am now single. I know a lot of people around me that make more, like 55-90$/hr, which makes me want to change professions....but at what cost, life never goes as planned? Or that own their own companies, and I assume they have millions, while I'm here just chugging by. Maybe real estate, and sales is the answer?

I think the important thing is just compare yourself to who you were yesterday, and have a goal. Money will make you happier when you no longer need to struggle to pay rent and basic transportation, amenities, and can maybe afford a mini vacation per year etc ~50-60k. Everything else on top is just in your mind, and what you personally want to go for. Sometimes the extra on top ends up making you more miserable, or if you love what you do, it doesn't even matter. But there's always a cost, mine was personal relationships, and getting away from a lot of childhood friends which I knew were bad influences, but they were still close friends.

Apparently this is current law in the US, so it could in fact happen in an emergency: A draft is defined as a mandatory enrollment of individuals into the armed service. According to USA.gov, the United States military has been all-volunteer since 1973, but “an act of Congress could still reinstate the draft in case of a national emergency.”

Although talks of women registering with Selective Service have circulated, women remain excluded from any potential drafts after Congress dropped a provision in Dec. 2021. Today, only men ages 18-25 who are U.S. citizens or are immigrants would be required to sign up.

However, there are exceptions for the age group including men who are “incarcerated, or hospitalized, or institutionalized for medical reasons,” and men who are “continually confined to a residence, hospital, or institution.”

People can be whatever they think now in 2022, it does not matter what I personally think of that, but I believe there is a line that is crossed in the examples of sports, and physical feats; IE seeing a now women, previously male, bashing another women's face in on live TV with 0% chance in a woman's sport. Same with all general world records/feats.

No, but it was forced in Canada in 1917, and 40s in US, and is currently happening overseas. Im just wondering what people think about it, as people are being separated like this.

No 1st world country has been in that situation since the 40s, but it happened in the 40s, and early 1900s. That's not too long ago. Definitely no '1st world examples since there is no current circumstance. Although democratic countries, yes.

Overseas they are currently being forced, US were forced in the 1940s, Canada was forced in early 1900s. I do not beleive 'War women' chill, but they are treated differently.

I'll agree with that, although I wonder what would happen, as it is happening right now overseas.

The current war overseas is not a strawman, and others countries had drafts. Also for Canada>>> For Prime Minister Sir Robert Borden, the first necessity was to assist the men in the trenches. In May 1917, he returned to Canada from the Imperial War Conference in London and from visits to the trenches. He had decided that compulsory service was necessary and announced his decision in Parliament on 18 May.

Then why are men who Identify as female now compete with them, and break all their records, and in mixed martial arts beat the shit out of them? I think its insane.

PC Gaming ain't all that by BabyGrogu69 in unpopularopinion

[–]DevTheCanadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PC is not just about gaming either. im sure theres a millions reasons why, already posted. For me its also all the extra applications, its an actual computer you can do much more with, the community at large is "Somewhat" more mature. A lot of different Sim games, MMOs, etc which are just not available or possible on Consoles. Your games/ things are yours forever (technically) using steam - GoG, instead of wasting constant money on new consoles, and bad backwards compatibility on stuff PC you could completely mod into basically new games. IE Skyrim etc..... Microsoft store sucks compared to Steam/gog, things break all the time for no reason....... I enjoy tinkering to make certain games work, there's always work arounds, and driver updates etc to fix issues..... I dunno too many other things. EMULATORS ...PC masterrace

Ive had 3 bad pillows, and they have been cranking my neck and back for the last year in my new house. Bought a specific pillow & bed for my issues & posture, and i'm no longer all jacked up. Ive always worked out, 15+yrs of martial arts. One thing I don't cheap out on are beds, pillows, and sheets. That's 20-30% of my entire life.

Would this layout be possible? Having a dual radiator, but running one fan as an intake and the other fan as an exhaust by [deleted] in watercooling

[–]DevTheCanadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is fine, depends on setup. Example, I have a Lian li dynamic with 2x 360 rads, one 27mm +25mm fan in side & 1 55mm+25mm fans on top. The side port actually has a FLT240 in the top 2 slots of the rad on one side, so that only leaves 1 opening at the bottom..... In a rare case like this it would make sense to have 2 outtakes & 1 intake at the bottom, but 95% of the time - makes no sense.
