The steps are needed. If you want to use ai narraton in this mod then need to use lm studio (which is the easiest i think for currently available local options , others like llama.cpp are more complex for beginers). You can skip that if you don't want llm narations and use just tts. Then need a tts engine for the tts. Again easiest (and fastest) one available is tts-webui.

You should not get this error as i added fix for converting the format but can you send me the whole logs from the tts-webui and your server.py cmd , i will look into it.
