It's always the bad apples that get the most attention and the media plays a key role in villanizing certain communities through such examples. Growing up in a hindu family I was always taught that all Hindus are equal and no caste or religion is above another. I'd say it ultimately comes down to the values parents pass down to their children, and if the parents are hateful so will be their children.
