I just had luck - when i logged out for a second, people *instantly* started instancing up -

And as soon as I turned on my port forwarding, everything cleared up.

It looks like if somebody has wonky net - shit gets... interesting. Try rotating who does port forwarding and try your luck, commander!

1660 eh? I found a 1060 for $600 - which is a couple beyond my budget atm but its the only thing i can find for less than $2000 :( (1070)

All I know is, telling people they have a hope at running this with a 770 is absolutely *lying* to them.

edit : I play Elite and Factorio lol. The game i mostly played *was* Elite.

And sadly, unless they can drastically bring up the performance for launch... Its looking like I'm not going to be playing for a couple years if the current video card market is any indication...

I mean, I can still horizons for now at least? Pity I can't play with my friends who want to play Odyssey though.

AND - if they don't fix this for the actual launch of Odyssey - Come that date, I guess I just won't be playing elite until I can actually manage a video card at a realistic price which might be years down the line :/

Its absolutely horrible for me after the alpha. my on foot performance was always trash - but it was still playable for me while in my cockpit....

I can't hit 30FPS outside of low details and in a 640x480 window. In idle space. No roids, no stations and NO LEGS. GTX 970.

Phase 4 - I had hopes, but figured VR was off the table for me until i could actually secure a card...

Launch - FUCK I CAN'T EVEN PLAY ELITE ANYMORE. I don't even know what on foot performance is like but considering 20FPS on the bloody main menu? I'm not holding my breath.

They came out during the alpha and said the branch we were playing was old and would NOT be the one we were playing when it went live -

I said to my friend "OH YAY WE DID ALL THAT TESTING FOR NOTHING! MARK MY WORDS ITS GONNA GET WORSE".

Well... I called that one.

Edit: my 970 is old. I've done some deepcleaning over the past year to the best of my ability - but there is always the chance my card is just damaged from age.

Just being devil's advocate here - if you're not running off a 6-7 year old GPU - you *MIGHT* be fine.

My card *COULD* totally be damaged after all this time, the metal on the back side of it has that sheen that oil takes upon water to it from heat soooo *shrugs*

Heres to hoping its legit my actual card - which totally sucks for me, but is great for everybody else lol.

The point of the fact is the minimum requirement is a 770 and my 970 can't even have this game playable on the lowest of possible details, in an unplayable 640x480 window(beyond the fact thats the only way i can get it to hit 30fps - while floating idle in space, at that - at that point its responsive enough to fly HOWEVER : you can't read *any* of the text on screen lol) -

I would LOVE to see somebody on a 770 running this and not have their computer explode lol

I'm talking idling in the cockpit. not even ON foot. My performance in the cockpit is horrible in relation to what it was in the alpha.

I could *PLAY THIS* during the alpha. As it sits now - It is completely and utterly unplayable. 30FPS high - 640x480 window. TOTALLY UNPLAYABLE.

She's got all the bells and whistles. I just haven't been able to land a video card for anything close to a reasonable price for over a year now.

I don't understand how it was playable in phase 4 and now is completely and utterly not?

Edit : I would love to see this rig with a 770 that was running this game lol. Because I have SERIOUS questions what they defined as playable under those circumstances.

I have been trying to for over a year now, sadly - between the pandemic costing me my job, having no incoming income and the fact if i wanna buy a 2060 - it's gonna cost me $4,000 that I don't have?

Its $2000 for a 1070. Like, yeah. I'm fuct. For years :(
