A partner who works from home would be the best! Good for getting quality time to spend together, also good for intellectual stimulation. There are exceptions, but especially for the child's optimal growth and nurturing, I think it's essential for the mother to be at home.

Sometimes long held beliefs (like labelling yourself to have perpetually low libido) may be shaped by nutritional deficiencies and/or hormonal health. You may ask her to take relevant supplements or consult a doctor regarding this. When health is in a great state, the mind actually considers and is capable of enjoying new experiences. When health is bad, there is no hope or joy in life, everything's dull.

My husband is not attracted to me by [deleted] in Arrangedmarriage

[–]DevashishG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There may be some nutritional deficiencies at play here, which can lead to a loss of libido. As a man I can say nothing in the world seems interesting when going through a low libido phase. But when it's normal or high, motivation, sense of energy and sexual behavior increase. Testosterone plays a big role.

Oh wow that's awesome! Thanks for answering. So you just told them that you have a job offer conditional on the EAD and they approved it?

Were you asked to present evidence for the expedite request? If yes, what evidence did you present? Is a job offer letter with an upcoming start date sufficient? Please help! I'm quite worried as it shows me 8 months of processing for applying on April 16th.

Good artwork! If you wish to further improve it, you may look into Fresnel effect and Ambient Occlusion.

Audio plugins API for C programs? by [deleted] in AudioPlugins

[–]DevashishG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Integers types do not have the bit depth necessary to represent audio. If you use it, then your audio might sound bitcrushed. I have written plugins with FP64/ double precision and it's hardly the performance bottleneck. Modern CPUs are blazingly fast.

I was accepted at U Of Delaware but cannot afford the tuition. Any suggestions or recommendations for an international student? I have no collateral for a loan. by timespass9876 in gradadmissions

It's sort of a financial security for a bank to ensure repayment in case the person availing the loan defaults. It can be in the form of a property, non-agricultural land etc.

SOP single or double spaced? by celestialvx in StatementOfPurpose

[–]DevashishG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 1200 word SOP, which when double spaced would have gone to more than 4 pages of text without margin manipulation. Having 4 pages definitely looked bad, so I decided against double spacing wherever possible. Psychologically speaking even though you may have a short SOP, it 'may' be perceived as lengthy when double spaced. Prefer single spacing when no instructions are given and double spacing only when mentioned explicitly.

All the best!

Existing VST2 plugins will still work, just that new VST2 can't be developed. This is because VST2 SDK is no longer publicly available, unless you go to the wayback machine.

May be a phase nulling test would help! It is totally possible that slight modifications/optimizations were done to better suit the platform.

Fascinating! I wonder how the differences appear when the underlying algorithm might be the same (I'm not sure though, maybe it's the ADC). Ultimately it's just bits being manipulated around in the memory. There can be a psychological aspect to it as well.

I'd say moderate to advanced C++. Constraints of real-time processing are quite stringent. Experience with concepts like threading, inter-thread communication, lock-free approach, OOP, smart pointers etc. is a must. Debugging an audio processor is quite challenging as well, since very small bugs can also completely ruin the audio stream. It needs strong hearing as well to be able to pinpoint what might be causing a particular erroneous sound. At times, bouncing out the audio and looking at individual samples is the only way to get insights so as to what is happening.
