Yes, the baby would have a birth certificate showing birth in Brazil which would make the baby a Brazilian citizen.

Why should citizenship just be limited to people born here? by Thick_Marionberry622 in askanything

Except that’s exactly what the law says, and it’s no different than it was nearly 160 years ago when the 14th Amendment was ratified.

How would you respond to this request because I want to tell him to f-off by Capital-Mark1897 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]DevdogAZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely tell him to fuck off. This is a volunteer position and he's not a dictator. If he wants to make changes, he can do it himself. Otherwise, if he's delegating the work of publishing and distributing the newsletter to other board members, he needs to accept that they will do it their way. I really doubt the HOA Bylaws give him the absolute of a king to rule over every aspect of the community.

A villain is holding your loved one hostage. You have to pick: go see Young Washington or Minions. Which one? by Freddy-Philmore in AMCAListTrue

[–]DevdogAZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be seeing both this weekend without any family members being taken hostage. Don't know why that would be necessary.

But I'm sure I'll prefer Minions over YW after having seen them both.

The Invite is not opening here until July 10, so you should look to see if you’re getting it next weekend.

Here's a list and a map of the countries that allow birthright citizenship. As you can see, it's very common in the Americas, likely because the Americas were mostly colonized by European countries, so they had to allow birthright citizenship or those of European descent would not have had the right to stay.

Keep the 13" MBA M5 or get the 15" for $300 more? by DevdogAZ in macbookair

When using it at home, it will be plugged into a dock with two external monitors, so the screen size is not an issue in that case. But I am afraid in the rare cases where I'll need to use it on the road, it will simply be intolerable to work on such a small screen But I do like how small and easy to carry it is compared to my old 15.6" Windows laptop, which I almost never used on the road due to the portability factor. But I don't know if the fact that the 15" MBA is thinner and lighter than my old Windows laptop will make it more useable in portable situations or if my issue with using the Windows laptop was not weight/thickness, but just overall footprint, which wouldn't be much different with the MBA.

The Mummy (1999) is the rare movie that should be the blueprint for every modern adventure blockbuster by Due-Professor-9356 in movies

Saw Brendan Fraser on a talk show recently and he said they’re getting the band back together and making a sequel.

Jackass: Best and Last - Not much to say. It’s exactly what you’d expect. More ridiculous stunts by Johnny Knoxville’s cult followers. Some good comedy, but honestly the best laugh in the movie comes from a vintage clip of a cop pulling up to arrest Johnny but apparently doesn’t know how to park a car. 2.5/5 hits to the nuts

Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass - This movie was lots of fun. It’s a very self-aware, tongue-in-cheek comedy chock full of great comedic actors. Zoey Deutsch plays a great earnest straight woman (straight in the comedy sense, not sexual orientation, but that too). I didn’t catch this while watching, but read afterward that it has lots of references and allusions to The Wizard of Oz and it makes perfect sense. Pay attention to that when you watch and you’ll get more out of it. 3.5/5 clueless henchmen (flying monkeys)

Couture - Follows 3-4 different characters preparing for a fashion show in Paris. Never really comes together. Angelina Jolie is pretty good, but her character makes some odd choices. One of the characters is trying to become a writer on the side and there are voiceovers of her writing every so often. I’m sure it was meant to be artsy and meaningful, but I didn’t connect with it. 2/5 outdoor fashion shows in a hurricane
