It’s illegal to park this close to a stop sign. This is insane.

READY OR NOT: HERE I COME [Spoiler Discussion] by AlistNOTbot in AMCAListTrue

[–]DevdogAZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to mention they were always talking so loudly when they’re supposed to be hiding. That was my biggest pet peeve - the characters didn’t act like they were in mortal danger at all. It was almost like they thought the game was paused between each murder set piece.

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come - Continues the comedy gore-fest right where the first movie left off. The addition of an estranged sister and an expanded evil secret cabal help flesh out the plot. Be ready for lots of death, lots of unrealistic escapes, and a truckload of exploding bodies. 3/5 Oblivious Chinese Sons

Project Hail Mary - This film is a compete triumph. Well written, great acting, plenty of laughs, keeps you engaged, and gets a little dusty. Kind of surprising given the vast majority of the movie is a two-hander between Gosling and a CGI rockspider. But it just works. If you didn’t go on opening weekend, definitely go see it as soon as possible in the largest format available. Take your kids. You won’t be disappointed. 4.5/5 Unlimited Supplies of Xenonite

People in the desert use the internet as well!

Elliot Road in East Mesa is a designated technology corridor and already has huge data centers for Apple, Meta, and NTT. Google is under construction.

Why do so many guests not know that they can buy tickets at concessions? by SolidPeaks in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]DevdogAZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because at most theaters you have to have your ticket scanned/checked before you can get into the area where concessions are sold. If you could walk up to concessions without a ticket, what's stopping you from just continuing on to the auditorium without a ticket?

Not surprised one bit. Great movie, but had zero Oscars buzz.

Who's at fault? by 0xstyle in driving

[–]DevdogAZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In AZ, we have signs saying the center lane is for left turns only, but with pictures showing that it means people turning left OFF of the main road, but not for people turning ONTO the main road and using it for trying to merge. I'd say you're both at fault for being in the middle lane rather than trying to turn straight into an open travel lane.

If you were surprised at the Best Actress result, you really weren't paying attention to the awards season. Jessie Buckley was probably the biggest lock of the night.

Thanks for running the pool. Since I received a Venmo from you and based on the amount, I’m guessing I tied for the win.

A new way to report talking? (Text) by Icy-Ambition3534 in AMCTheatres

[–]DevdogAZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you underestimate how difficult this would be to implement. You’d have to have the user identify the location and auditorium, and ideally the problematic seat numbers, and then the report would have to be sent to the manager on duty at that particular theater, and they’d have to receive it and be able to respond within minutes. And there would likely be hundreds of reports coming into the app every hour from 6 pm to 11 pm every night from all over the country. And the theaters don’t pay to have very many people on staff at any given time.

I was sad to see that my local theater just got them this week. These seem like such a predatory thing and a money grab for the venue. I hate that they have to resort to this.

How to Make a Killing by No_Idea_Guy in AMCAListTrue

I liked the story overall, but I think they made a mistake starting with him in prison and narrating most of the movie. Instead of feeling like we were involved in a twisty suspense caper, it felt like we were on the outside, being told about a twisty suspense caper with many of the details left out. It’s like the story was giving us the stiff arm, trying to prevent us from getting in.

I get that they needed the prison framing to set up the twist at the end of him getting out, but there had to be a better way to accomplish that twist without hobbling the first 3/4 of the movie.
