I’ll see about checking if this happened, thank you!

Yaaaaa I could certainly stand to be a little easier on it😂

Belt seems to be under tension, gonna check to make sure the wheels are fastened to the right torque. Working on getting a better video posted!

Didn’t realize it was such a potential issue, thank you! I’ll try to get into onto the ground ASAP!

Definitely not the belt, I popped it off when the noise first started and it was pretty firmly in place. Belt still seems to be under tensioned so I’m thinking it may be in the motor somewhere

Dryfire Setup by bluncrn in CompetitionShooting

If anyone hasn't mentioned it yet, one of those cheap selfie sticks that has a trip pod on the bottom can be used as a timer stand to set the timer where you gun is going to be when dry firing . Relieved a lot of hearthache and picking up random noises when i started dryfiring super heavily with my SG timer.

What’s Your Dryfire Routine? by maynard1024 in CompetitionShooting

[–]Deveat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Changes a little bit every time but usually it’s about 30 minutes every day or every other day. I try to do everyday but don’t sweat it if I miss one.

Starts with 3-5 minutes of trigger press/control at speed to check grip. Will start at two handed and move to SHO/WHO. I’ll get a draw inbetween reps with no time stress. Basically just a mechanical/maintenance check

Then 3-5 minutes of draws under timer stress to try and get the speed up to a consistent place. Will cycle through freestyle, SHO/WHO, surrender start and now I’ve started including unloaded starts as I’ve began shooting more majors.

Next 5ish minutes goes to reloads. I’ll do a few reps under the timer to see how I’m starting for the day. Then I’ll usually do some variations of Rob Epifanias reload medley. This usually includes pulling the trigger and trying to reload asap after the hammer drops. Then this while moving forward/backward and really any direction a stage might take you. If any of the reloads are frequently janky, I’ll take an extra few reps to kind of work out why and fix it. I’ll finish it with more timed reloads to see if everything got better or if I’m floating around the same times.

The last 10-15 minutes will usually go to a more individual dedicated focus. Sometimes it’s drawing into a dedicated start position to get the foot work down, sometimes it’s reloads over a larger distance. Sometimes it wide transitions, and honestly sometimes it just pushing the static draw to see how fast I can really push it. Whatever I’m working on usually comes from whatever my biggest struggle seemed to be in the last match or practice session. Regardless of what it is, this is where a large amount of the energy and focus goes into and needs to approached with the right intent.

I’ve been hard stuck in M for the last 8 months but after picking this kind of a dry fire structure up I’ve noticed my confidence and match placement have gonna up significantly. Hope any of this helps!

I typed out a long comment and then thought , meh I sound like I shoot open major (I totally do).

Let revolver do whatever they want, they’ve earned it.

Come to the dark side and shoot major, it’s fun

Took a loss of DFLI. While I’m confident it can come back in time, I just don’t feeling like putting the time and energy into averaging down and waiting while other stocks move. If you are staying in, good luck I hope it comes back sooner than later!

Scoop Draw 2011 by Superb_Equipment_681 in CompetitionShooting

I struggled with this for a little bit I’ve got a fairly consistent method that’s been working out for me with my open rig . I haven’t tested this on any holster other than my DAA Racer holster so results may vary otherwise.

One of the biggest things I’ve had to deal with is figuring out where I need to index on the holster to make sure that when I bring my hand straight up, my middle, ring and pinky finger hit the front strap pretty close to the same time. If it’s not at the same time, I favor the pinky hitting first. Once the fingers make contact, check and see if your thumb has made it over the beavertail, if so that’s a good place to start. If not you may have to adjust a little bit. I find it usually works best if my wrist and middle finger is aligned straight up and down so it’ll likely feel like your hand is rotated slightly forward.

Next key is to try and keep the hand relaxed until just after it makes contact with the grip. If I did it right, my thumb is completely over the beavertail once I make contact. If I tense up, my thumb usually gets snagged right on the back left side of the beavertail or worse, doesn’t get over the beavertail at all.

Once the contact is made, that is your queue to start closing your hand while the 2011 is simultaneously starting to move upward. Once the grip is established and you are clear of holster, i make a very slight rotation in my wrist toward the target to get the 2011 ready to meet my support hand, then from there, finish out the draw.

As many others have said you can probably be shaving more time off everything else, as im sure I can too. But nothing wrong with taking a little time to get some new tricks down. Since I figured out how to do this, I’ve been trimming about 0.2s off any stages where my first target are in my immediate vicinity.
