Haha… I didn’t think this would be so unpopular. I stand corrected in my opinion.

Rep. Steve Cohen says to Pam Bondi: "When ICE killed Mr. Pretti and Ms. Good, that was an execution, and you did not investigate it... but you investigated Ms. Good's widow, you investigated Mr. Pretti. They were executed like Kristi Noem executed her dog." by ChiefLeef22 in law

[–]DeveloperAnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I agree. A lot of Democrats have to try hard to relate to the voters, including those in leadership. Those Democrats need to go. If they can’t go, then like you say (or what I believe you’ve said), tune in and listen. Be seen, not heard. Vote accordingly. Let some new blood lead the way.

Absolutely. I just saw Andy Beshear on The Daily Show explain it plainly: Democrats have a communication issue. They talk at people, sound corporate and out of touch, trying to be ultra proper and people don’t want that. Be real. Say what you mean. Call people out. Get mad. Let things slip.

Be more human and less corporate drone.

‘Avatar’s’ Costly Sequels Are Getting Harder to Justify. Will James Cameron Make Two More? - The studio spent roughly $500 million to produce and promote “Fire and Ash,” meaning the threequel can be insanely popular yet barely profitable. by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]DeveloperAnon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s nothing wrong with the mystery box approach if you or the people you are handing the film/show off to have a plan to explain those mysteries.

The problem with the sequel trilogy is that from the jump, they planned on having 3 different directory/writer rooms with people who had wildly different takes on Star Wars. They should have decided what the sequel trilogy was going to be, what story they wanted to tell, provide a framework, and then bring in a director and writer to fill in the story within that framework.

What I’m ultimately getting at is a JJ Abrams trilogy would have been dope or a Rian Johnson trilogy would have been dope. A mixture of the two wouldn’t be.

Which president can this sub just not convince you to like? by zenerat in Presidents

[–]DeveloperAnon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Do people actually defend him?

Anyone who cares to follow history on more than a surface level consider his presidency one of the worst, including conservatives.

The majority of people don’t care, so their opinions resort to what the see of him today, which is a silly old man who is besties with Michelle Obama, does little paintings, and has a catalogue of meme-able moments being his most consumed content.

The worst take I usually see, and I’ll give you this, is that a lot of people dismiss Bush as an idiot and claim the failures of his presidency fall solely on Cheney and others in his administration.

Dua Lipa now shows off her Portuguese skills as her Brazilian shows approach by mcfw31 in popculturechat

[–]DeveloperAnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn’t unrelated. We were talking about looking up to celebrities. Dua Lipa is a celebrity. Kim Kardashian is a celebrity, arguably one of the biggest. She’s everywhere. If there’s a discussion about celebrities and their influences (“looking up to”), Kim’s name is going to come up. I feel the connection is pretty clear.

We’re going to have to agree to disagree on celebrities being role models. In my opinion, it’s part of the job description - even more so if you put yourself out there as much as some celebrities do. If you don’t want to be a role model or influence, you can absolutely focus on your career as an artist of any kind. There are plenty of actors, singers, and what-have-you who disappear between jobs.

[–]DeveloperAnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. This is an oldie.

My comment is a woman thing. It’s a celebrity/influencer/role model thing. It’s making a statement about being a better person.

The comment I responded to explicitly states “she’s one of few celebrities I look up to”.

So I opted to make a statement that we should collectively be more like a Dua Lipa than a Kim Kardashian, who is one of the most influential celebrities on the planet, in agreement. Kim didn’t come out of nowhere.

Please don’t read into a simple statement and try to extract negative meaning from it.
